How do you buy fish and chips?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 5:38 pm

I honestly don't know.

There is nothing in my house for lunch so I'm going to go to the local fish and chip shop to buy it there.

But what exactly do I say?

Why do I get the feel the OP is channelling Epicfail.....

Same way as any other shop. Look at the menu and prices, tell the person what you want, hand over money and enjoy.

It should say on the menu what sort of fish they have (assuming they have more than one type), and then you choose whether you want it grilled, battered, or crumbed. Then just say you want a minimum chips.

So you'll basically say "I'll have a battered/grilled/crumbed *type of fish* and a minimum chips, thanks."

What I'm trying to figure out is if he's just trying to understand the correct lingo for ordering fish and chips, or if he's actually incapable of ordering things from restaurants.

Well he's Tasmanian, and I dont know entirely understand how the inbreds down there speak, so their lingo might be genuinly different.

Begging you, chip merchant, sir, could I trouble you to permit oneself to partake in the fishly delights that you house in yon chip/fishery?

Alternatively: "can I have a minimum order of chips and a piece of flake (or whiting)?"
