So part of my house was on fire

Yeah. I was sitting here, watching a movie on Netflix when I heard this weird knocking going on below me (we live in an upstairs of a house, kind of like an apartment) and I was wondering what it was but didn't pay much attention to it. Then I heard this beeping, it sounded strange but didn't pay much attention to that either. Then I hear some screaming and I think I hear my name and I see people outside and they look like they're shouting at me..so I opened the window and the lady says "Your house is on fire get out!" and I was like huh...and then she repeated herself and then I closed the window, told my mom we gotta get out (at the time she was like huh too and didn't really understand what I was trying to tell her) and I looked out our kitchen window and saw the smoke rising (and the orange tint) from the addition to the house for the person who lives below..and I was like "Mom we have to get out now, there's a fire don't question me just lets go" and we got outside and there was a cop asking if anyone was inside and I was like yeah my mom is on her way down.

The lady downstairs was still in her house and I didn't know that at the time, but the lady who was yelling at me from outside said the dog was in the house and the door was open so we got the dog and then my mom said something about the lady who lives in that house being in there still and we found out she was and she came out a few seconds later with the cop and I went to the back and saw the fire as it was crawling up the side of the addition and I was starting to get the shakes thinking I was going to lose my property (lol priorities!). Anyways I went by the lady who was calling my name and told her thanks, because she was the one who alerted me to the fire (lady downstairs was sleeping, had just taken sleeping pills so was completely out of it) and called 911. 2 minutes later all the fire engines got there and the small (yet scary) fire was put out. But the whole commotion lasted about an hour and I'm still shaking from it. Thankfully the neighbor was around and was able to call 911, and alert me as well. My house might not be here anymore if it wasn't for her. I'm also very lucky to live less than 8 blocks from 2 fire stations, so they were able to get here really fast and put the fire out before it got big and engulfed the entire house.

Anyways, I don't have renters insurance and now I'm going to get some. So anyone else ever experience something like this? I know possessions are kind of a silly thing to worry about in a case like this but..I don't know I don't want to lose all I own.

I remember this one... Ambrose came inside and then you put the fire out and took credit for it, while also gaining Denna's ring?

Well we didn't have any damage in my part of the house, but the person downstairs had damage on the addition. I don't think any damage inside happened but the side paneling and some of the framework for the addition + a fence got destroyed so that will have to be replaced. It was a small fire really, everything happened so fast and the fire dept. got here fast enough to put it out.

Lame man, lame lol. On a side note, it is like 90 degrees outside still at what was 10 pm so yeah more heat than I wanted to experience.

Also Daggerfall what the hell are you going on about lol.

My mom once decided to use the window fan that was in her bedroom back when we lived in Kyle. That fan was old, antique old, late in the night it caught on fire and filled the place with acrid smoke. I unplugged it and killed the flames and shook my head at her for trying to use a fan as old as she was.
I am more sad that my Uncle sold that house for 44k when now it is probably worth over 150k since it is located within a few blocks of downtown.

I remember I used to set fire to things for the lolz of it. Still do but on much smaller scales. Used to bonfire equivilents because I lived beside a forest-ish place and stuff would grow too big/too wild so it was sort of a service I was doing, but this one time someone thought it'd be hilarious to throw a full can of spray paint into the fire, noticing this we all run for cover - but being a hilly maze of a forest it turns out I had ran from one side of the fire, all the way away and ended up round the other side of the fire and the can blew up right as I noticed where I was. Luckily I has specs and the paint never went in my eyes, but I looked like a [censored] smurf and ruined my favourite T--shirt at the time.
