Beyond games and the ability to mod them and the choice to use both a keyboard/mouse or Xbox controller, you can also use a PC for video and photo editing, faster net-surfing, DVD/Blueray player/burner, file sharing, etc.

You'll get far more use out of a PC in my opinion.

Go buy a purple robe, white hair dye and a lot of cheese and throw it at homeless people. The cheese that is. Wear the robes and use the hair dye.

It depends on how sadistic you are.

I'd wait and do the PC when you get $1,000. You can build a beast for less and still have some left over for a 1080p monitor (or 1600p, even better). That's just my take on it, but getting an XBox seems like a waste of money given the next generation is just around the corner and your new rig, if set up right, will still run circles around the XBox 720/Hypercube or whatever they're gonna call it for years to come.

This is the best advice in a thread that is mostly spam. So, no need for any more comments.

I suggest to the OP that they be a bit more specific in their opening so as to direct the discussion.
