1.7 out of beta

Jesus, what's the point of having a beta when they don't fix the bugs the beta introduces? Disappointing, Bethesda.

To be fair, the beta doesn't seem to have broken anything this time around...at least not that was found. (I did have one out of the blue CTD, and I haven't had one of those since 1.3. I also got my first ever surprise naked courier and a dragon that wouldn't cough up its soul.) There wasn't much testing done, given the short beta period and general discouragement after what happened with the 1.6 beta. That was a no-win situation, really.

On the other hand, 1.7 also didn't fix bugs introduced by 1.6 that should have been fixed before 1.6 got drop-kicked out the door. That's my only problem with 1.7 thus far.

I'm burning those words in a tablet of stone, AV - heaven help you if you go back on them.

We NEED people 'on the team' who REALLY understand how it feels to be on this side of the fence.

Actually this is version 1.7.7.0.6. I thought the beta was 1.7.7.0.2 or something like that. I have Steam turned off so how can I check the version digits.

Noooooooo!!!! I read this as steam opened in the backround, and it updated and now I can't safely work on my mod until a CK release follows! Cuuuurseeess!!!
There are no indications that a CK update will follow. Nothing in the EXE even hinted at the necessity for one. I know that's not much of a reassurance but that's all I've got.

I'd expect to see a CK update once Dawnguard hits though. There's no way to avoid one by that point.

Anybody else getting stuff like this in their papyrus logs? Pretty sure I've never seen it before.
Those are from SKSE functions that aren't linked yet. Ian said it's perfectly safe to ignore. They got caught with a bunch of work partially done when the patch came.

UPDATE: It looks like it a pure mesh/texture replacer mod that may be the culprit. I remembered I'd got some stuff packed into a collection of BSAs and loaded via skyrim.ini. Removing these allows me to draw weapons. Unfortunately, "some stuff" is pretty much what's in STEP, aggregated and rendered down to BSAs. Looks like I have a happy fun time eliminating stuff ...

OK, seem to have narrowed it down to one of a couple of sound replacer mods, rather than texture/mesh replacers. These seem to be Smooth blade draw and Sheathe (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1117) and another called Realistic Weapon Swing Sounds which I can no longer find on the nexus. Not sure which of these is at fault, and I've run out of time to narrow it further.
