I was playing Skyrim outside last night.

Brought my laptop out, and played it. Had my dog with me, and she was just in guard dog mode. Well, that aside, I was playing around in the Rift and hunting in the game. Got into a fight with some trappers. Saw a hunter just sneaking around while I killed some deer.

Enjoyed playing the game outside. Had my laptop on a lower brightness setting so I could play for more than an hour if I felt like staying out for a bit. It was really immersive. I'm not kidding. The tree outside my window looks pretty much like the ones you see inside of Whiterun. The back looks like the plains of Whiterun a bit, only there's a huge cliff/hill that leads to a creek and forest.

Sometimes, you'll see deer just hanging out at night in the front. I pretty much was outside playing a game that had similar terrain to where I live. My dog didn't get angry when she heard the wolves in the game, strangely. I was scared she would because she's a hunter by nature, as well.

Moral of this experience? This game is really immersive if you play it outside at night. I don't go outside much due to my extreme fear of bees, but I'm fine with night time. Love it. I think it even helped me sleep better. If you got a laptop that can play Skyrim, try playing it outside sometime. It's great.

Depends on where you live, I guess. The stupid ghetto I live in would wreck my immersion. Not to mention the fact that my laptop would've been stolen before I even booted Skyrim up :P

I'll just have to drag my Xbox out in my driveway. Even if I were to do that, I probably wouldn't feel so immersed, as it's nearly 100F degrees where I live. Hopefully, the next game will be Elsweyr, would be able to immerse myself perfectly.

Mine is reminiscent to Elsweyr mixed in with some Whiterun plains. (funny cause I play a Khajiit and my home hold is Whiterun).

Its been 105 degrees outside. My laptop would melt...

Yeah. Those kinds of places are certainly not the right place to be outside with a laptop, sadly. I've been to a ghetto once. I was actually a bit scared when my parents told me what not to say... I did get some nice shirts, though. Still was a bit scary since I was just a kid and didn't know certain words were stuff that was a bad idea to say in ghettos. Heh.

You do not realize how blessed you are. In Holland, we only have rainy, cold summers. In fact, it's rainy and cold all year :P

I think it is a new game about dancing... Strange, I know. Ubisoft isn't making it.

Luckily, I live in Holland, so we've no 'popping hoodrats', but nevertheless, it still svcks living here.

There is no such thing as rain or cold down here. Its hot all the time, winter lasts maybe 3 months and that is it. You get dehydrated so quick you'd have to have a small refrigerator next to you when you play.

I don't think it would work for me. There's a busy street on one side of my house and a block of flats on the other. I guess I could hide in the garden - it's sheltered by trellises - but it's not the same as being in the open space. I'm definitely not going to take my laptop to the forest though ;)
