How long have you lasted........?

Post » Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:00 am

I have 95 sneak on my thief but I still get caught trying to sneak up on bosses, do these last 5 levels make such a big difference (talking about master lvl).

Perks?

What armor are you wearing? What enchants, if any?

You mean Dead-is-Dead? Level 41 and counting.

I wouldn't recommend it though. It's tedious pot spam oftentimes and I have a feeling that if I was doing anything other than a heavy armor sword and board smith, then I would've died already. I'm just doing it out of habit of playing Dead-is-dead on hardest difficulty.

Oh, I'm an incompetent player. Adept is more than enough for me.

Ok, I guess you pointed out my weakness right there, nearly no superb enchantments on my armor apart from using the standard thiefguild/Dbrotherhood armor with VoLsung mask while dungeon crawling.

Hmmm weird.. All i ever use on my thief on master is the dark brotherhood armor as well, and i almost never get caught by anyone. I got all the perks in sneak except the last 2 perks, and i got 100 in the skill itself. ( and the first perk with 5 ranks, i only got once as well) I dont know what problem you're having, the gear you're using shouldnt affect your sneak. All i do when i sneak is stick to the dark shadows and try to come up behind the enemy, also make sure you dont accidentally bump into the enemy you try to sneak up on. And running and walking doesnt seem to have any difference( and i dont have the perk that makes running silent either - seemed like a waste to me)

The difficulty has nothing to do with Sneak. At 95 you should be able to run up their pant leg. The only perks I put in Sneak is just enough to get up the right side. With just 1/5 in Sneak, all you need is a 75 Skill and a Muffle spell.

If you have a skill of 95, it's your sound, that is getting you spotted. A Muffle of 1.0 is maxed. The Spell is 1.0, boots you enchant are 1.0, boots you find are 0.5. That renders silent perks useless.

EDIT : I only play Dead Is Dead. I play my Necromancer/Conjurers and my Assassins on Master, as they very seldom get hit.

I usually play on Adept, unless I choose a perk that makes the character OP, then I bump it up one til they seem to be dieing to much then bump it back down. I played one character on master for about 10 lvl's and she held her own, 42 to 52, after that I had to bump it down some. Dieing every 2 minutes is no fun to me, I could go do that on one of my husbands FPS's.

This exactly! HAHA!

I have never attempted the hardest level. I am at Adept and plan to stay there.

It depends on the enemy. My level 50 character can last for a while. I say around 1-2 hours if I'm looking for enemies. My lowest level character seems to be a 2 minute chump

Sounds like my sixual prowess :(

For Dead is Dead my furthest character was a 40 something then a crab killed me.

But the difficulty, I play on Master. Being an overpowered werewolf is nice. If I'm a Khajiit I'm using a ton of Alteration and Alchemy for potions, Restoration for Avoid Death (that is a blessing to have). Heavy enchantments on high grade weapons and armor to reach the armor rating cap and increase defense/combat prowess.

Am I the only one who saw the title of this thread and thought it was about something completely different? ;)
