I've really enjoyed my sorcerer, which was based more on the old class menu illustration of a sorcerer than on what most people actually play (a mage, except in heavy armour instead of or as well as using flesh spells, and utilising the Atronach stone). You keep a shield in one hand and a spell in the other, and fight your way through the world until you can get:
-The atronach stone
-The elemental resistance perk
-The ward absorb perk
-Spellbreaker
-Resist magic, frost, shock and fire enchantments
Then enchant your armour to resist magic (you can resist a maximum of 85% of each element as well as 85% of magic overall, so a total of 97% resistance versus destruction spells), strap on Spellbreaker and start on those Bashing perks and focus almost entirely on Stamina (spell absorption and spellbreaker will cover your magicka for the most part, and at the armour cap and with a capped shield raised just 150 health makes you quite durable, though it is an option definitely to use fortify health until you meet those benchmarks).
By the time you have all the block perks, you should be able to wreck enemies on master difficulty just with shield charge/bash, keeping healing spells, telekinesis, conjuration, &c in your right hand.
