Would Bethesda put a re-assign perks option into a patch?!

Post » Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:29 am

This is the only thing I would like to alter
Im on Lvl 81, Most of my skill levels are at 100%
but some of my skill trees are basic level

Whats the chance Bethesda would consider putting a re-assign perks option into an upcoming patch?
for all consoles

Chance is slim to none, though that is still a chance by an Asura's standards.

i would like that, but alot of the people on here probably wouldnt want it because it "ruins replay value". i just want to remove the perk i put on the light armor side of the smithing skill since i switched to heavy armor. if its included it should be like 100,000 septims per perk

More than likely its a no.

As Echonite said, the chances are slim to none.

No, I don't think they will and hope they won't. By the time you get where you're the level you are OP, it's time to either put down the game for a couple months or start a new character with a different roleplay.

Lol, in the Borderlands forums, re-spec is a must have by all. And anyone who doesn't want re-spec is crazy. But here, it's punishable by death to mention re-spec. Wait... I just mentioned re-spec... Twice, No, wait, three ti-... I'm going to stop talking now.

Do you have SKSE installed? What you ask for may be possible with GetPerkPoints(), SetPerkPoints() and ModPerkPoints(), combined with running HasPerk() and RemovePerk() on a list of vanilla perks.

They probably won't, but they could make it possible and still "within the bounds of roleplay (or whatever). Skills can deteriorate or be forgotten over time. You character's measurment of time is in skill ups and level ups, how your character progresses. SO... a feasible and realistic solution, one that probably even the most hardcoe would find little, if anything, to complain about, would be to unperk a tree ONE perk at a time, ONLY after level up. SO, you could reasign one perk per level up, that's it. Personally, I still don't like the idea. It makes no sense. You messed up? Yeah, that happens sometimes, to all of us. Now, live with the flaw you created, work with it. It's part of what defines your character. Yes, I remember way back then, when I was escaping Helgen, and Light Armor was important to me. This isn't WoW, where you MUST grind and assign the same as every one else just to compete/stay alive. It's an SP game, a "real" RPG, with emphasis on the RP NOT meaning increasing numbers leading to being increasingly more powerful so I can beat increasingly more powerful opponents (that's the action-mind, not RP at all, RP only introduced these concepts).

They should add it, since it's optional and therefore doesn't in any way hurt those who don't want it.

yip defo could do with a respec option in skyrim. i really cant be bothered to play all the way through the game again jus because i decide to switch armours later on in game or cos i jus wanna try out different skills or made a silly mistake. it makes no sense to make those who dont wish to start over for the sake of trying out a few skills.
itd be great if they added it. it should have an in game cost an maybe be limited to a certain number per character or within a time frame etc.
i suppose it depends on the games too. borderlands you often need to respec for co-op an jus other situations its not a game you can easily play through with one set of skills/build. skyrim you can probably play through without any skills if you so choose to. but yea the skills are not as crucial to the overall completion an enjoyment of the game. it jus more defines your character.
id love a respec option tho. those gamers who are against the idea simply do not have to use it. the game has no multiplayer so there is no counter argument really. replay value an how that is gained is dependant on each individual gamer. id get a lot more replay value if i could respec in skyrim tbh. as id play around with more skills, as it is i am not playing the whole game again jus to have a bit more fun out of using bows for example, so that skill will jus get unused along with many others. if i could respec it would get used at some point in my game and in return lengthen how long my game will last me an the replay value i get from it.

bethesda please release a respec patch. if people do not want it they dont have to use it. it is optional afterall nobody is forcing players to hit the respec button but having one there would make a lot of other players happy.

Actually, I just want 2 extra level pts, for a mid level attainment in one of the trees I somewhat neglected
Its no big deal, I can carry on without it

I havent done a DLC yet for Dawnguard or Hearthfire as I want to finish the existing map completely
and find all locations possible, etc

Not another one...

Well, considering they made a dlc that was just a house mod... maybe they will.

Honestly I'd rather they give us the ability to unlearn ritual spells. Few things irritate me more than having a spell I needed one time, that is of absolutely no use to me taking up space in my spell lists.
