Dunno about race specific starts (although I wouldn't dismiss that idea out of hand) but something like the aforementioned mod would be fantastic. Take note of that modders idea beth, its a bloody fantastic one!

I'm sorry.... I couldn't help myself. I have 5 different usernames ( 360) I couldn't imagine wanting to start a new character and have to go through the carrige ride each time. 6 times was enough. I messed up my 1st save point. Right before hadvar says "and who are you?" is the best place I think.

I would love an alternate start or at least have the ability like Oblivion to save right at that point where you can make changes and start a whole new character from their.
