Of course, what the person means is that the game is now being made to appeal to a more general audience, in difference to a more niche design that was directed to the smaller audience he was a part of
Except it's practically the same thing. The whole idea that says if it's generally popular, it svcks. Because, ya know, everybody but hardcoe gamers are stupid, and stuff.
I'm not trying to defend Bethesda's direction with Skyrim. There are a
lot of legitimate problems with the game. But, yeah, being popular isn't really one of them.
