Are any more patches or DLC in the works?

Almost sure there's more to come, alteast one DLC in size of dawnguard but it would probably take around 3-4 months to get anything announced on it and if i know bethesda right smaller dlc's is very likely too.

Oh most definitely! It would almost seem ignorant to think there wasn't any "milk" to squeeze out of the almost year old game still. But no, i dont think Bethesda is done w/ Skyrim by far.

"Done with Skyrim" would be a great name for the final DLC.

I expect Skyrim's crown-jewel DLC next, something between Dawnguard and Shivering Isles in size.

Hearthfire is such a small DLC that probably only a few devs worked on it. It's a perfect filler DLC to reduce the impatience of the fanbase in the wait for a bigger one. Since before the release of Dawnguard (well over 3 months ago) most of the devs that still work on Skyrim are probably working on this next DLC.

Remember that Skyrim sold exceptionally well, especially compared to Bethesda's previous releases. This means that Skyrim DLC's have a far bigger audience than previous games as well, and they are relatively easy to make (compared to making a new game). At some point they will ofcourse stop with DLC's because the audience of DLC's practically always shrinks over time and never grows, so at some point putting the full team on a new game is the wiser option. It will just take Skyrim a bit longer to reach that point due to it's popularity. Also, we know from interviews that Bethesda was doubting whether to wait with Skyrim for the next generation of consoles. Odds are that they do wait for the next generation of consoles with their next game, and thus will stick to Skyrim DLC's a bit longer.

I think it's reasonable to expect at least two more mid-large DLC's.

Hearthfire just came out...

Patience, young padawan! It's ok if there's not a new dlc coming out every other month.

I hope there's more to come in 2013, preferably something big. Fully realized Expansion big.

If they're smart they'll release it in December. :) A mid/large sized Skyrim DLC would be a perfect Christmas gift for many. Although, if they do release it in December it probably won't be bigger than Dawnguard. Unless they really start whipping the devs ofcourse! *hint* *hint* :P

They are probably done, the predecessor Oblivion and Bethesda game Fallout New Vegas were discontinued too after they received a few patches, all within a year. Since almost a year has passed support has probably ended.

Except the situation is quite different now:

I'll bet my last septim the next dlc is called "Dragonborn" due to how similar the trademark on that phrase was done compared to hearthfire and dawnguard.

This is a good point.

It's obvious DLC is still in the works, but patches have never come out for this long. Wouldn't be surprised if we never got another patch, though I suppose one last patch for November/with the next DLC release is likely too.

They might've been working on it the whole time while working on dawnguard and hearthfire. Especially if dragonborn is really the name of the next dlc, since that was trademarked a little after dawnguard was, I believe. We all know how bethesda loves pretty release dates. What if the next dlc is out in 12/12/12? That'd be neat. I'd rather them take as much time as they need to make it great then it being released asap though.

God,I hope they're not done...I play on PS3 and I haven't even got to try DG or HF yet.It has almost made me go to the PC version of the game but I keep hoping they will get it figured out.

Some devs definitely have, since everything must be done in a certain order. I was mainly thinking about the devs who work on the later stages. Writing and world building for example would definitely have started before Dawnguard's release.

Hopefully not, I'm hoping for at least a couple more large DLCs, it sounds like Bethesda will start development on TES 6 later for the next gen of consoles.

Yes, Hearthfire was the pet project of a very tiny dev team. That's exactly what GStaff told us when it was released
Most of the rest of Bethesda Game Studios was working on something new(I exclude the team trying to fix what's screwy with Dawnguard)
