How are your feelings on Lycantrhopy in Skyrim?

Was there a lunar cycle in Daggerfall? That's where we were first introduced to Tamriel Lycanthropy.
In Morrowind, it was nighttime. Just night time. Any night was wolfy night.
Yes, there was a lunar cycle.

In Morrowind, it was during the Bloodmoon. You think Hircine would want to wait fifteen days for each of his werewolves to turn when he's hosting a hunt? He needed to drive the prey out to find a suitable hunter. The ritual put the werewolf powers on blast.

I wish it was a little different. For starters I would've loved having the ability to catch it from wild werewolves, and have wild werewolves be somewhat more frequent. Along with lunar transformations, buffs to human form other than disease immunity.

But Skyrim even breaks Tamriel's ruleset.

I'm not aware of how things were in Bloodmoon, but dmel25 below, apparently refers to that.

It doesn't have to, but when they change the lore just to make it easier that's a problem. Originally werewolves changed on full moons, and could change at will twice a day.

I could humor this, by saying that Hircine is in a better mood nowadays. Molag Bal too.

Learn something new everyday. I never ever bothered to look UP in Daggerfall to see if Masser and Secunda were in the sky.

I think you quoted the wrong post by me.

I think we all know why Molag Bal is in a better mood. One word... Serana

I think Molag gets enough tail to care about one Daughter of Coldharbour who was put in a coma for Talos knows how long.

Personally, the only thing I really hated about it is the super slow transformation.

It's not as bad as Bloodmoon's.

I believe I quoted the correct one, describing how werewolves used to be. Now, if Molag Bal can be in a better mood, why not Hircine?

I know I'm playing with words here, but such is the way lore is being formed and in some cases, reformed. Whether that's good or bad, depends on what each and everyone feels alright about ;)

I thought you quoted the wrong one because in my other post I said the same thing, but I also included how they changed because of the Bloodmoon, and I thought you meant to quote that one. Hircine is all about the hunt, so he wants his werewolves to be forced to transform so they have to kill, he wouldn't just change his mind and be like you know what werewolves don't have to change on full moons, he isn't that nice  .

Personally I don't mind being able to transform at will, however, that shouldn't be at the expense of lunar transformations. In those moments, you shouldn't be able to control your beastial desires.

Lacking at first but I am glad they get perks to be better with dawnguard. As far as lunar Transfermations go I'm also glad they broke free of that. My main character took the disease simply to be immune to all other diseases I don't actually ever use the transformation lol.

To me, that's not how lycanthropy should work. While It's not your fault, you're just playing the game, people shouldn't be able to use it just for an exploit.

This is a perfect example of why lycanthropy is implemented horribly in Skyrim.

You have to admit he made Lycanthropy a very enjoyable way of hunting, so that his "children" would want to transform on every available occasion

I do remember however, running like hell out of Falkreath when I received the Cursed Ring. Didn't even give it the chance to randomly transform me

I personally like it.

Vampirism in oblivion was to much of a hindrance to be pratical for normal play.

I like werebear but the whole werefish, werevulture and werepig etc is one of TES lore's most stupidist moments IMO

I love that ES lycanthropy is different though. This isn't each mythology lycanthropy they have their own version. ^_^ I like when things go against the norm. Infact I'd be happy if they would have done even more so. But then again it is good they didn't for the people that like normal werewolfs. It's kinda a middle ground.

I personally feel that it is too much of a blessing rather than a curse and really breaks the feel of being a were-creature.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12687 (Haven't Explored it fully yet so I don't know if it include wild werewolves. That should be in it.) and I think that it really delivers what Lycanthropy should be. I'm hoping the next TES game follows suit.

What do you guys think? Is it too much of a good thing, with too little negatives and a seemingly "God Mode" esqe spell setup, or should it have been more like that mod?

I'll refer you to the thread in my signature for my thoughts on Lycanthropy in Skryim.
