As the video contains forum censored language I had to remove the link, but you're free to discuss it. People who want to see it will surely be able to find the Zero Punctuation review on The Escapist themselves.

Agreed about the voice acting.

As far as the level design goes, I do believe they could've squeezed in some extra routes. I wouldn't call it a glaring design flaw, more like a case of not pushing far enough.

But was it funny? (No.)

Don't care for voiced protagonists because they're almost always insufferable.

Brought up that stupid "good ending, bad ending" schtick.

His jabs at characters don't make any sense.

Agree with the rest.

Who is Yahtzee and why should I care?

A comedian with a huge cult following, and at this point, you shouldn't. His reviews were funny, but he's been pulling the exact same "I'm a fast-talking cynical game critic" shtick for over 5 years now. Any useful commentary he had about gaming has long dried up and blown away.

I don't really take issue with any of his problems with Dishonored, they're mostly fair points that could be argued one way or another, I just think in general the quality and relevance of his show has gone way downhill.

Well, he was never a critic, but he used to be funny. That's very rarely the case nowadays.

He's definitely a critic. Not a reviewer per se, but a critic in the literal sense of the word.

What Yahtzee does is not really "reviewing".

I don't even think it's fair to call them critiques.

He just bashed titles in profanity laced tirade.

It's good for a few cheap laughs and if the guy's made a career out of it... well lucky him I guess.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

And what is a game about friggen assassination that tells you you're bad for assassinating people? Isn't that the whole point? Motivate the player to assassinate characters, build up their assassination, and then. You know what then? Instead of "non-lethal" assassinations they should have given you points, points for style on how you killed them. Like, give the player the option to hang the friggen High Overseer from the window out in front of the courtyard for all to see. That's style, that's what I wanted to do.

I'm sure 99% of the people on here are huge fans, and so are self congratulatory in their praise. But I've the notion, and small samples of evidence, that this is an accurate assessment of how many feel about the game. People that bought it, played it, but aren't here. A lot of potential that didn't hit the right notes at the right times.

The game leads, Harvey Smith, Ricardo Bare, et. al. Next time, figure out what your game is ABOUT. What is it you are motivating players to do, and then make sure everything is centered around making that as awesome as possible. Don't decide, halfway through, that there's an entirely different way to play your game, and that suddenly have to try and support that too even though none of your game is designed for that.

Like every other game ever made? One of the hallmarks of stealth gameplay is the non-violent or less-violent approach. They made it so you can be stone-cold if you want but that design element is still there. There are plenty of other games where you get to slaughter everything in sight and get rewarded for it.
