Best "worst" game you played

Post » Tue Oct 30, 2012 2:51 pm

There was a game for the original Playstation called Fighting Force. I borrowed it from a friend once. It was a kind of 3D (yeah, that was still a big deal then) Streets of Rage-type beat-em-up. It wasn't very good, to be honest, but my brother and I had literally an hour's fun playing co-op on it.

Your post just made my whole night. :)

Even for its time Fighting Force was too tardy and clumsy, but for some reason me and my friends kept playing it 24/7.

So I have a question should I play Two worlds or Risen first?

Same for me. The first got terrible reviews for obvious reasons, but the second did not deserve the criticism. If they would have called it something else it would have had better ratings, people just hated it because the first was so bad. I around 100 hours into both games combined.

I preferred the first to the second: sure, the second was more polished, but they lost something in the process, it was more run-of-the-mill. The first really had its own atmosphere, and other than the well-documented gaffes, I thought it was actually rather good.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I suppose we enjoyed it to that extent was because we literally broke our Mega Drive (Genesis) by playing Streets of Rage II so much. We couldn't afford a new one at the time and switched to PC gaming, where at the time that sort of game just wasn't available. Fighting Force just happened to be the first game that came along and made us think back to the "glory days".

Depends what you're looking for. Two Worlds is more quirky, Risen feels more together. If bad voice acting grabs you, go for TW; but if enormous, deadly, psychopathic moths are your thing, then give Risen a whirl!

I guess I will see what I will play after I get done with Dead Island and TF:FOC. And mabye finally finish FO3, if I can stop making random http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/zippydsmlee/FO3modszippylabs/Zippylabs-Hellfirecannon-betaskin-nearfinal.jpg for it. LOL

Another thought occurs - Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders. I know the tongue-in-cheek humour of LucasArts point-and-click games was what attracted many (including myself) to them, but I found the idea that you could walk out of "London airport" and see Stonehenge absolutely ridiculous.
