The DLC situation svcks...

If that's the case, they shouldn't have taken my money and told me that my PS3 version of Skyrim would have a level of parity with the 360 version of Skyrim.

This I agree with :3 I would have waited till it went down in price, or bought it off someone who was done with it if I would have known their game didn't run well at all for the PS3 x_X

I agree - it seems that every time they announce a new DLC, we get our hopes up ... only to have them tumble down again.
But if you're this angry, perhaps it's time to shelve Skyrim and move onto another game? Assassin's Creed III has just been released with some nice goodies for PS3, for example.

If their engine and the hardware can't play nice, why are they bothering to make games for it at all? And why do they then actively lie about the problems? It's not like people won't notice their game is practically a slide show.

they have known about the ps3 hardware for more than a couple of minutes, if they didn't intend to release all dlc on every platform why does our box say there would be addon content?
who wrote the software requirements and specifications? Bethesda did and certainly they did so fully aware of the PS3 architecture. They have flopped several times already on the PS3, with Skyim simply being the worst so far.
the idea that they won't release DLC because of performance issues is shocking, imo, since they knew at release the game would be utterly broken for many users.

Already done this ;)
I'm done with Bethesda, I came on their forums to see if anything new was said. But just as i expected they are working on "content" that we probably won't ever see. "content" being whatever they want to add. Goodbye Bethesda :) You've proven to be not worth the price for anything besides your PC titles :)

That's the point I've said since the DLC debacle happened with Bethesda. They have a history of ineptitude when it comes to developing games for the PS3. Skyrim's situation is bad for Bethesda, but when Bethesda shipped Fallout 3 and took over a year to ship DLC for the system, it tells me that they have a history of bad development with the PS3.

Another valid point. Bethesda should think about outsourcing development for the PS3, since they are so inept with the system.
Or how about Bethesda stops making games for the PS3 all together. It seems the PS3 can't handle the type of games that Bethesda makes. Just stick with the PC and Xbox 360.

Don't blame Bethesda, blame Sony for using weird hardware and making it hard to code for an open-world game.

lol, you've just been waiting for a fresh thread in here to post that haven't you? lol

... and if the "content" comes someday, it would be out of date :)
in the mean time there were new games as @Solitudian stated.

Yeah, funny, though how Bethesda is the ONLY developer who can;t get the "weird hardware" to work. You can go back to your XBOX now that you've enlightened us all.

Pompous Altmer: Are you Monkeypaws in disguise? You sound like him.

This whole situation is pathetic. If Beth can't fix anythjing by now they should come out and say so.

But that'd be communication. That's why they'll never outright say PS3 is never getting any DLC, we just get the 'content' of mounted combat and kill-cams which are pointless.

Its been stated that the way PS3 uses its memory, is the reason why it makes it difficult for developers to develop huge open world games on the PS3. Half the memory is just for graphics and half of it is for actual code. The PS3 is a console geared towards arcade, action, and hack'n'slash games. The reason Bethesda is way better at programming for Xbox, is because the Xbox is actually built more like a PC, which handles Bethesda type games really well. It can take on more memory intensive software and code.

What PC have you ever bought that had an odd number of processor cores and a unified memory pool?
