Yes, i have to agree that attacking enemies many times feels like breaking down a wall of HP with the same old repeated attacks. Combat, especially melee, tends to be bland because of this and many of these problems could be solved with enemy AI and their overall abilities. Locational damage is a big must IMO because without it seems like enemies are just walls of HP with no difference where they are attacked; a hit to the foot does the same exact damage as a blow to the head. Weak points on creatures would add a ton of more strategy in combat, and would help in not mindlessly flailing your weapon at the enemy while waiting for them to fall down.
