Was there DLC for the original Xbox anyways? and I don't think thats true, its definitley labeled as a "purchase" and not a lease, but maybe there is some small print that I'm sure I didn't read that says otherwise, but I'd be surprised if you actually knew

Yes there was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic had a DLC add-on and is no longer accessible if you didn't d/l before the original xbox support cut out. Though it wasn't gotten through a "marketplace" you had to dl it through the game but it was still DLC and is no longer accessible.

I still don't think it will be a concern, not with as many people who have an XBox 360 compare to those who had the original.

In any case, I see another "Game of the Year" edition or something by the end of this year that will have the DLC on it. They did it with Oblivion, I see them doing it with Skyrim as well.

Skyrim's GOTY/complete wont be til at least next year (2013) or possibly not until early 2014. They have to finish all the DLC before they put one out.

Okay, that says there was an XBOX LIVE service, not a marketplace. I'm pretty sure the new content you could download there was just games, not add-ons, making them much more likely to get rid of it since it takes up server space.....and like i said in my previous post, they probably transfered most of that content to the new marketplace anyways

Okay well onto vDark Eaglev's comment, you can still download the content even if the current Marketplace does get shut down, but honestly I'm sure they will transfer the stuff or at least give you plenty of notice that you need to download it, but for a game as popular as Skyrim I'm sure they'll transfer this stuff. If not then I guess its tough luck for not downloading it

Again, this was the orginial XBox and the 360 is a complete opposite of what the Original XBox was. I don't see that with the new XBox. The new XBox is going to build UPON the 360, sure it will have new content and do things differently but is no reason it can't access the same "XBox Live" that the 360 accesses.

I think people are getting paranoid about the new XBox coming out next year, which hasn't even been announced yet. It's just my opinion but I don't see Microsoft just shutting off the service to the 360's, especially when I'm sure that the new XBox will be backwards compatable to 360 games.

Just a thought, with today's technology, they'll probably just add an Xbox 720 (or whatever) section to the current marketplace. Keeps both groups of users happy, anthem don't have to shut 360 users down, they don't have to produce an entire new looking marketplace, and theyll save money by not dealing with lawsuits about lost dlc, and make money off of dlc that'll still be available for 360.
