Dawnguard awesome?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:16 pm

Looking forward to next week when it'll finally be out on PC. All my friends have given it great reviews, but can't talk to me about it because I don't have XBox. Next week can't get here soon enough. :D

Dawnguard awesome? Yes.

Listen not to the people blindly hating on it! Some of them haven't even played it and they are just acting petulant because they can't have it. Every other person blindly hating the DLC is trolling.

Do pay attention to any constructive criticism and reviews because they will help you better understand what is and isn't done by the DLC.

I thought it was great. Definitely worth the $20. The two large areas that are added are stunning and offer up a lot to do. It kept me busy for a good many hours far beyond the 20 that it was supposed to be. The new weapons are really fun and some of the new armors are really nice. The added abilities are also a very nice touch if you are into playing either of those styles. My warrior is a werewolf so I like having a perk tree for that now. Really makes it a viable playstyle instead of just a neat trick that was rarely used. The story is also interesting if you pay attention and don't just rush through it like most of the complainers probably did. There is a lot to explore and look at and people that rush will also blow past all that without appreciating it. I had a blast playing the Dawnguard side. Now I have to decide which of my characters will side with the Vampires and do that quest line. Unfortunately I never have liked playing a vampire so that's not an easy call for me at this point.

I think over-all its pretty solid. It was a good story, and your made to feel that this Vampire threat needs to be dealt with at once. I think Serana is a great companion, as well as the rest of the new followers. My only dissapointing moment was when I realized YOU CAN'T MARRY the new followers. :(

I LOVED the Snow Elf ruins I think they were well designed, you felt as if no one's walked those paths to the Cathederal in thousands of years.

I have just finished the Vampire MQ. I have done no other quests from it yet like lost to the ages or Dawnguard. Definitely worth what I payed for it. So far I have only had one bug which only occurs while in VL form with Serana following me. The added thing are great, the new armour, armoured trolls and huskies. The thing I want is the ability to set up camp in the wilderness and more spells. Also scroll/staff crafting.

An excellent download! One or two minor hiccups cannot detract from the fact that it is well produced and the new areas are great. The entrance to the Aetherium Forge came as a nice surprise and that whole side quest is enthralling. In Serana, whether you love or hate her, (I love her), we finally get an NPC with a fleshed out back story that you can actually relate to. I was one of those who was sceptical about the premise of the Vamp vs Dawnguard being the main focus of the dlc but I am glad I was proved wrong as there is a lot more to Dawnguard and I thoroughly recommend it to the PCers and PS3ers :tops: !!

I think people were expecting something the size of shivering isles and when it wasent they were disapointed. but it does add more than you think, new shouts, spells, weapons, armor, cloths, werewold and vamp perk trees, vamp lord form, wild werewolfs, a good improvment to most ingame vampires. really does add alot more than you would think.

I finally completed the DLC and I have to say, it was amazing. The best part of it has to be the story and the amazing characters. I love Serana.

My favorite part of the DLC has to be:
Spoiler
Confronting Vyrthur. It was the most amazing battle I've ever had.

Best Elder Scrolls DLC second to Bloodmoon.

Vampires & werewolves right?

On top; loved it, but not as much as Shiv.

Buffy the vampire slayer is not good at all....oops...i mean dawnguard. Poorly done with a severe lack of imagination.

Better ideas and story than the base game with worse bugs.

It's a wash, and isn't worth your money until they fix it.

i love it, i'm just happy to get more content as i havent got a pc capable of running skyrim to download mods. i would think that the complainers are a minority, most people who bought the DLC and enjoyed it will most likely be playing it or finished it and moved onto another game. they wouldnt exactly come on the forums to make posts about how great it is. although when someone does, its always good to see a positive thread

Shivering Isles was an expansion and not considered a DLC. Thus it was larger. KOTN was considered a DLC and was found to be nearer the size and price that most people bought and enjoyed. They thus moved toward larger DLC's instead of smaller ones (like the one we all make fun of "horse armor" and toward more sizeable one's like KOTN) and away from full expansions such as Bloodmoon, Tribunal and Shivering Isles.

Really enjoyed the story, a few bugs and some broken quests, but it's worth playing. I really like Serana, she is the best NPC follower I've ever encountered in an RPG.

It's ok

Glad i did not have to buy it.

Feels extremely rushed, and the new weapons are ok, nothing spectacular, like people want to make them. The only Armor worth anything, is the Snow Elf armor, you get at the end of the one quest. Other than that, the Dragon bone weapons are so so.

And it feels short, i remember thinking during the beta testing, this cannot be the end.
