Question about size of mod?

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 2:12 pm

Anybody have an idea about data ratio of a Dungeon mod? Meaning the amount (in Mb) of say cave/ruins/clutter compared to the encounters/items. Can anybody speculate if not known?

if your .esp file gets larger than approx 9-10mb the CK will get very unstable, cause due to 32bit memory limitation, better convert to .esm then.

AFAIK it only gets instable above 80-90 MB for ESP's.

@OP, don't worry, you won't get a very big file from dungeon mods. A few MB at the very max, probably less than one.

A single dungeon can be as small as 100kb. Probably way less. My current project adds a 64x64 cell worldspace, about 40 interiors and a huge amount of quests, dialogue, and other various types of data; and it's only 11mb. That shows the shear size of Skyrim, sitting at almost 250mb. If you make a single medium sized dungeon I'd say 50kb or so. Usually quest mods that add lots of dungeons are far larger than simple (filetype wise, not complexity or difficulty of work) encounter item editing mods. Those simply alter data forms that are farm smaller in size and amount of data.

Thank you Alexander! I thought I was making a simple add on dungeon Mod, but what I think I have in mind I'll have to do a world space with respective quests.
