Heal undead spell question

If you want the knowledge perhaps you shouldn't have killed the ones who have the knowledge.

This was the best post in this thread, and since I cannot say it any better, I'm going to quote it so you can read it again:

I do not recall the most powerful necromancers being vampires, do you?
Certainly that one vampire is not the only one that has that knowledge.
To say as such is being extremely naive.

I wonder what attrocities your characters have done in the name of good.

None of you answered the question whether or not you have made use of
soul gems.

How many people have you slaughtered? What darkness have your
characters stooped to? How many corpses have you stripped clean?
How many did you give a burial to?

I say you have no moral authority to judge my character because he
utilizes necromancy.

A corpse is only an empty shell and should be treated as such.

not reading everything but go to the NPC, hit them with calm, buy the spell from em.

That's an interesting idea. I'll have to try that on another character since the npc at
this point in dead.

Thank you for a reply.

It would appear that I am not the vain one.

A few people a majority does not make.

Whether you folks want to tout morality, which morality differs for everyone, the practise of necromancy
is not illegal. That is a fact that you can not dispute. My character can walk through cities with dead
thralls and no one attacks him, not even the guards. Do you know why? It is because it is not illegal.

I think you're giving the game too much credit here insofar that you're basing your argument around NPC reaction. I can walk around Solitude dressed head to foot in Stormcloak apparel and not be attacked and vice versa i can roam around Windhelm in Imperial armour. An NPC can be slain in full view of guards and other npcs, yet they'll still scratch their heads and ask how this happened and so on. The AI is shoddy at best.

Since the guys a vampire and therefore undead, you would need to have the master of the mind perk in order to calm him. So you would need to be a master of illusion in order to buy the spell that way.

You said Ronthil is already dead, but if you make another necromancer you can join the volkihar vampires which would let you buy the spell. Then you can go cure yourself of vampirism. You won't be able to rejoin the Dawnguard even when you cure yourself, but if all you care about is the spell then it's an option.

Edit: After reading about Kindred Judgement which I have not done myself, It would would be difficult to get the spell if on the Dawnguard side as there is a huge fight when going into the castle. You would need Harmony as well as Master of the Mind and all of the level related perks to in order to stop all the fighting.
