This is sadly true.

I don't see anything sad about it? Sticking with what made you you is admirable.

would have been a even greater PR disaster for beth , it already was and still is
lots of fans would have given up and that would have been the end of the TES series , tho pretty sure TESO will be the end since it already is a big fail

I was just wondering what this forum would be like right now if PC users were still waiting on Dawnguard or Hearthfire to release. Better yet what if neither were released on PC but were right now on 360 and PS3.

What do you think the forums would be like right now?
For one I highly doubt the mods would be able to contain it to one thread like they have with the PS3 version. For another there would probably be a bigger outcry.

What else?

The reaction would be disbelief since there would be no reason not to release anything for PC that some woeful console can play. And if Bethesda ever made an exclusive deal that cut PC fans out of getting something, they would have a PR disaster. But then no fans on any platform have been prevented from getting something for Skyrim because of any exclusive deals.

Well, considering that I waited four years for Jade Empire to make it to pc, I'm fairly sure I'd just wait, checking the forums once in a while to see whether any information had been released yet.

Timed exclusives don't bother me. The last time there was an exclusive to one console game that I was interested in, I went to their forum once in a while to see whether there was any news released. I thought that eventually, like Jade Empire, the game would be released on pc. Unfortunately, the game was announced for release on pc immediately after the company had been bought out by EA, so there was the whole "drm phone home every 5-10 days or your legal game shuts down" fiasco, the "we is gonna catch us some pirates we is" trap code inserted in the game that trapped more legit users than pirates issue, not to mention the one planet's textures being bright black against dark black problems that their not even close to perfect port had and I was perfectly happy to wait even longer. The game was Mass Effect. I didn't bother to get it until it was drm free and on sale on Steam.

I have no idea why TESO is being brought up. Besides the game not being released yet, so it really can't have failed yet, the Elder Scrolls Online is *not* made by Bethesda, and from what has been posted by those devs so far, is not in the Elder Scroll series made by Bethesda. Two separate studios, two separate games.

This can close before the platform bashing really gets underway, and the off-topic posts end in warnings.
