Get rid of these heavy scrolls

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:02 am

I have completed the vampire questline by killing Harkon but now I have these three heavy Elder Scrolls that I cannot seem to get rid of. That's a total weight of 60 that cannot be removed. What can I do?

I've heard they don't actually weigh 60 pounds, it just says they do. I don't know if there's any truth to this though.

Quest items weigh nothing. The dragon scroll is need for the main quest and can be sold to the orc librarian in the College of Winterhold after the MQ is finished.
The other two I'm not too sure. I heard you can sell them to someone, just don't know who.

You'd think people would know this by now.

The only reason I know about is because I was a beta tester.

It applies to all quest items.

Sell/give to the Moth Priest if he's still at the castle (Didn't play the VL side, so I'm not sure). I also believe you can sell them to Urag as you could with the Dragon scroll for the main quest.

I was referring to the fact that it lies about their weight. I know quest items weigh 0, but I thought it actually said that.

It doesnt lie. The game just doesnt add in quest item weight until (if at all) the quest is activated or ended, at which point, if the quest is scripted to release quest items, then they will weigh normally, and can be dropped.

I tried giving them to Dexion but he won't take them. Is it possible they can't be given until you sell the dragon scroll to the Orc?

What I meant is that it says that they weigh 20 pounds each in your inventory, but they actually don't. So couldn't that be considered lying?

Uhhh. I think the only requirement is that you finish the main Dawnguard(dlc not faction) quests. It wouldnt let me sell them to him on the vampire side though :(

If you sold an elder scroll to Urag in the game questline, then if you bought the scroll back off him, it won't let you sell it back to him for some reason. Bethesda needs to fix this issue, coz its annoying!

Tell the teacher on Bethesda then.

The weight is included because sometimes quest items become normal items, which then affect your carry capacity.
