Divayth Fyr, Corprus, and Hermaeus Mora theory

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:46 am

I was never implying that the creature in the screenshot was an ascended sleeper. I'm sure it is a Daedric being attributed to Hermaeus Mora. What I'm suggesting is that Hermaeus Mora had some influence in the Corprus and Dagoth Ur's tapping into the heart of Lorkhan. It wouldn't break lore, it wouldn't require heavy exposition, but it would be a minor side note with large implications.

Again, blight is obviously over, the devil is dead, but the similarities between Mora's creatures and the Corprus spawn of Morrowind's past are a bit too glaring to be a mere coincidence.

EDIT: Plus, the whole "deemed worthy of enlightenment" aspect is right up Mora's alley, as is the tentacles from the freshly hollowed mind. The transformation from standard ash zombie to full blown ascended sleeper was always unclear at best. I think we're about to find out that Hermaeus Mora has been a lot more "active" in these prophecies than we once thought.

EDIT EDIT: and yeah, I think the ash people are unrelated. I like the Ingenium theory!!

Consider Morrowind came out 10 years ago. We have not heard anything like this or have had any reason to believe they were linked (even now). Why does Hermaeus Mora have to be involved? Is it because Ascended Sleepers happened to have tentacles? Or because we see one form of new creature with the name "ash" in it's title, and it does not resemble Ash Vampires/Slaves at all?.. Why does the Heart of Lorkhan need Hermaeus Mora's help in order to corrupt people?

I'm saying Dagoth Ur could have dreamed up any crazy thing he wanted and made it happen using the Heart of Lorkhan, and for some random reason he decided to make a curse that turns people into enlightened tentacle monsters. Just coincidentally.

EDIT: And why, out of all the princes, does Bethesda pick Hermaeus Mora for a DLC involving Morrowind?

Yes, it is quite coincidental. Also, because it fits within the dragonborn story that probably has nothing to do with Corprus. Who knows? I'm just saying that what we have here is a massive leap in time and logic between corprus and hermaeus mora.
