That's all well and good. But just to be clear, A lot of people had faith in BioWare, that they knew what they were doing with SWTOR, and look what the result was.
Concerns really do need to be presented to ZOS in a civil and constructive manner. It is a well known fact that MMO players find loopholes in carefully designed systems that developers don't even consider. So whatever potential exploits or unintended advantages we see as potential threats to the integrity of the game, whether we are in Beta or not, we need to voice concern.
These forums are official, all be it temporarily located here. But being official, there has to be some way for our moderators to contact an actual Bethesda Softworks representative, who could in turn relay a message to someone in the ZOS studios who can get the concerns before the eyes of someone who can make sense of them and bring them before the other developers and decision makers.
MAYBE ZOS reads this board. We don't know. They haven't posted here. For all we know, we may exist in a vacuum to them.
I would say that the concerns in many threads on these forums should be consolidated in a single document outlining the concerns only, with all the argumentative drama filtered out, so the key points are addressed. And the person compiling that document needs to be capable of doing so in an unbiased way. Does ZOS know what concerns us as a community? It is my opinion that they should.
In my past, I have served as a liaison between an online community and those in official position. Regardless of my personal opinions on things I am capable of laying aside any bias and assume an impartial position. I may be vocal here about what I think, but I also try to take into account what others feel as well. So I offer to be the person who compiles the document. If a moderator would be willing to relay it to someone official when it is finished, then that would be the best we can hope for. What happens beyond that point would be out of our hands.
It may well be that we simply do not see the big picture, considering that so much of what TESO will ultimately be is unknown to us. However, sometimes partial information is enough to generate valid concern. I was active in the SWTOR community, and some of us saw potential problems that could negatively affect the game's initial box sales to subscriptions ratio. The "in BioWare We Trust!" crowd tried to ridicule us and discredit us at every turn, but when all was said and done, many of their number ended up not subscribing, or did not stay subscribed long due to the very things we tried to warn about.
In the past, I have bragged about having been right in what I and others saw. But that is a wrong attitude for me to have. This should not be about who is right or wrong, but rather about seeing that this game can be the best it possibly can be for all parties concerned: The Developers, The Elder Scrolls Fans, The MMO Fans, and any other group that wants this to be their next (or first) MMO home.
What I would like to do is ask those who agree with what I have said in this post to begin voicing their concerns. I do not care what side of an issue you are on. Leave the flamewars outside. Just voice your concerns. Those with opposing viewpoints, do not attack each other. This is not intended to be an argument. Only the basis for forming a list of valid concverns. There are other threads that exist for debate of the issues. I'll be reviewing all of them as well, and I will sift through the arguments and find key points and be putting them in the list as well, When I find redundant points, I'll drop the oldest instance of it and go with the newest.
At least that is the plan.
I thank you for your time, and hope that if this is considered to be a worthy endeavor, that it will remain positive and bear fruit.
Take care...
