The Unofficial Ulfric Fangirl Thread #2

I just want to get back to playing again so I can take more lovely screenshots.

Got through level 55 on the last character before I started having some issues, oh well that playthrough was more of an experiment in modding anyway. I have a better idea of what I'm doing now and am currently rebuilding my mods list. Finally updated to 1.7 as well, kinda had to as I wanted the updated CK to see if it would get rid of problems with some modded interiors. Not looking forward to the problems with placing items manually in-game and if modding Hjerim still makes it impossible to leave the house without a console command I will be very, very unhappy. Altho teleporting myself directly into the Palace was kinda fun, I'll admit.

Level 55? Geez, didn't you just start that character? :ooo:
I usually spend about four months on each of my characters, and so far I have abandoned them or retired them around level 45. My Imperial has potential to reach further if I stick to my original plan with him. He's level 39 now and halfway through the CoW questline, and my original plan was to do yet another bunch of sidequest, the rest of the MQ (he has only done Dragon Rising), the Bard's College quests and all Dwemer ruins, but to be honest I have sort of lost my feeling for him lately and will likely retire him when he becomes Arch-Mage and has finished the quests he has started. Which will probably happen around level 45 or so. Guess I never could forgive him for killing Ulfric, after all...

My Dunmer witch still hasn't talked to Ulfric after Helgen. She hasn't even decided to join the war yet, or discovered that she's Dragonborn, and she still believes that Ulfric mistreat the Dark Elves on purpose. She will however learn that he really has nothing against them at all. At least not if they are female, and naked. :bunny:

I dunno, what, a couple weeks ago? It helps if you only sleep 4-5 hours a night and not at all on weekends.

It was going really well, mostly I was trying to balance having a fun character while seeing how my player home mods turned out... some stuff worked, some I had to modify on the fly in the middle of the game to test out different things, some didn't work at all or only confirmed problems that I expected to be there and couldn't resolve (which I'm hoping the update will help with). I could've lived with console commanding myself out of Hjerim all the time but then things I'd modded into the house started to disappear, the mod that let me adopt Meeko stopped working and wouldn't recognize that I'd bought Hjerim and he could live there... I think I made so many saves and reloaded so many and went back and forth so many times trying to fix other things with the house that it just mucked up a lot of other stuff in the process.

The real killer was when textures or other visuals started to bug out on me, first about 99% of the time the default human male body textures didn't render properly, and that I resolved to live with until I started a new game, but then something happened with I don't know what but I sat down and loaded my last save and suddenly the snow on the ground had become blindingly white, I mean it became impossible to discern any detail or even see other objects on the ground in snow covered areas because the ground was just a huge painfully bright blob of pure white color. I've seen that type of thing reported but in all my hours of play, never had it in my game before. It made the game unplayable.

I dunno, I may have just gotten to the overkill point on adding textures or something - I've heard if you try to add too many at some point the game just stops loading them. Don't know if that's true or not but something definitely got borked with that game.

On the contrary, I think there are at least a couple of things he's far more likely to hold against them if they're female and naked.

Not having small kids might help, too. :P I guess I play on average a couple of hours per day, then it might be more some days and not at all others - still my husband complains about me occupying the TV. (Which is another reason why I want that PC - of course I would hook that one up to the TV anyway, but at least I could play somewhere else...)

:lmao: True!

I'm not a guy who's into men or anything, but Ulfric's Nord charms&--#62;Tulius's grumpy old man vibe by far, lol.
I am not a woman whose into men, but I agree! After all, Ulfric is a master of the tongue... ;)
