The Unofficial Ulfric Fangirl Thread #2

Post » Tue Jan 22, 2013 8:07 pm

That's a good theory, altho Ulfric isn't a follower in the vanilla game. I don't know if other (or even just certain) NPCs always leveled up before the latest patches or not... but I'm guessing no. But yeah there is an "alias" Ulfric that gives the speech. I think there may also be a separate Ulfric for the opening of the game, otherwise if he never leveled it seems like he'd be stuck at level 1 for a long, long time... maybe forever if you played the Legion side and that CW alias never appeared. I do know that in the CK if you search for "ulfric" under Actors you find three of them listed.

The UESP lists his level as PC x 1.2, range 10-50 (just checked :P), which would make him lvl 10 when you first meet him, unless that's another version and the at-least-lvl-10 version is the one you meet in Windhelm.

Yeah, I was trying to make a Photoshopped pic of a Mudcrab in Imperial Armor, but it's proving to be too difficult.

How about a bunch of mudcrab trophies somewhere in the Palace of the Kings? :P

Or was it friendly fire?

A meadcrab.

It could have been a stormcloak spy posing as an imperial collaborator which is also Alduin's lawyer.

I could be on to something. Maybe Ulfric is competing against Alduin in some fashion contest.

I was able to get http://i1209.photobucket.com/albums/cc398/buckomccane/Skyrim/Imp_Mudcrab_01.jpg done. Not great, but I don't think it's horrible. The hard part is manipulating the simulated 3D renderings of the armor pieces with the simulated 3D rendering of the mudcrab. This would all be simple if I could take my own proper screenshots.

The Operation Cap Knee elements were easier to orient prospective-wise because they were 'flat' objects.

You mean like Photoshop a bunch of them around Ulfric or use one of those for the Imperial Mudcrab?

I'm far from an Empire Supporter, but I don't think the armor looks bad. Good joke though.

I just think it's kinda dull looking. Bland. It's just so... brown. I'm not an earth tone person, lol. At least on the SC stuff the blue seems a little more prominent and it's such a pretty blue.

In other news I finally started playing again! Just bought my custom modded Breezehome and after a couple walkthroughs it looks like all it needs is a small tweak here and there. Except I have an issue with the custom female mannequins I did that might be a problem... altho I think I had it before I customized anything and it was just a matter of mod load order, so here's hoping.

AND APPARENTLY I DID NOT SCREW UP THE NAVMESH even though I had no idea what I was doing. Found Lydia in the basemant chopping wood, bless her heart. At least now she can burn off some of the calories from all that bread she eats. :P

Anyway we'll see how things go when I finally get to Hjerim, really took a chance messing with that one cuz it's so buggy even without tinkering.

I meant that Ulfric needs more mudcrab trophies in his home. Ordinary would do. In Imperial armor would be awesome.

Pics! Pics! :D Female mannequins ftw! Hope you'll to solve the problems.

Btw, I can add another naked-male-follower incident to our common list: I'm currently having Erandur as my follower. I gave him a scaled helmet to carry, and he equipped it, of course.
His default robes are hooded. Now, he couldn't wear a hood at the same time as the helmet, right? And he didn't have armor or anything else to wear.

You can figure out the rest. :P

I did that accidental disrobing of Erandur a few times too. Poor little chuck was always complaining of the cold in Windhelm to begin with. I don't know what his problem is- he grew up in the Pale and must have lived a couple hundred years, you'd think you'd at least learn to knit or something.

That is my thought too. The light Imperial armors are very bland. It is no wonder the Empire is in such a sorry state, when their soldiers are forced to wear clothes like that. No one wants to join up once they see what they have to wear! I just started a new character to try to do the Imp side of the civil war, and I do not know if I can go through with it now that I see how she looks in Imperial Armor. She might be forced to go Stormcloak just to get a better outfit!

I did, it was just a load order thing.

The custom mannequin was a result of me playing with the Advanced Mannequins mod, the modder made female mannies that actually LOOK like the vanilla mannequins, not the (IMO) horrible things that look like dept store wax dummies standing around your home staring at you. But his were meant to be purchased from a merchant, then he had scripting that would let you "drop" them anywhere you liked. It was a great idea but they stood in kind of a weird pose, they duped items like crazy, and because they used a different script than vanilla mannies the fixes for mannequin issues of that kind didn't work on them.

So I got to playing around with it, extracted all his texture files and whatnot, then created a dupe of his female mannekin and renamed it and removed all the custom scripts and replaced them with the one the vanilla mannies use, so the fixes for the scripting work on it, and voila - I have a PlayerHouseMannequinFemale that I can mod into player homes. If I'm lucky it will have all the same features that other mods add to the vanilla male ones (equipping them with weapons, not duping items, not wandering around the house, etc.).

Well, I was wondering if he would equip it, especially since he has refused to wear any kind of armor so far. I think he has had several bad hair days in a row and that's the reason.

Come to think of it, he had in fact a belted tunic in his inventory for unknown reasons, so he could have chosen to stay dressed.
