A great horn blows that call, the lines are formed and the charge across the field commences. Arrows fly soldiers fall, lines clash and then some stupid elf launches an overpowered aoe and ends what would be an epic fray. Afraid the might have beens are already tallying in my mind.

Yeah I recon all we be about even and besides its a megaserver; so lets just assume for one min it gets 5 million subs(dont argue numbers its just exaple), even IF DC falls behind having only say 18% thats still 18% of 5 million players.

However I still think it will go Pact>Covenant>Dominion Skyrim gave the elves a bad name lol.

There are also factors such as more people will be playing who have never played TES than people who have never played an MMO. The vast majory ofcaurse will be people who have played both but there is a bigger base of MMO players out there looking for the next big game and TES players out there willing to pay to play TES online when they just got a solid SP game a couple years before that is still expanding.

The MMO players who have never played TES, have and dont care about the lore or have and enjoy playing elves will have no problem choosing the AD. I agree with EP>DC>AD but I think they are all going to be closer than people on internet forums think and I think DC and AD will be almost the same with neither being vastly out numbered by EP. Most people who are going to play will be picking races based on the in game info about them so when the average player looks at an AD race they see high elves, wood elves and cat people not the in depth histories of them we know.

Good Q&A, but I sure wish we'd get some new info about the game itself soon. I mean, I think I'm a pretty big fan, but all these little lore tidbits are just not interesting to me anymore. I wanna know more about the game: classes, skills, etc.

Amen! me too bro, me too...especially because it seems like half the time I know more about the lore then ZOS does, or maybe they just choose to ignore it so it fits their MMO better.;)

Oh man, do not get me started.

As for more gameplay elements? Well, they did reveal quite a bit about that initially. Maybe they are not quite where they want to be yet when it comes to many of the finer features. Showing is much more effective than telling after all.

Screw the polls, DC will be the unpopular one. AD has all the pretty elves and badass cat people. EP has a good mix between human, mer, and beast. What does DC have? Basically two "half elf" type of races, and a human. Two human like races, and green humans with small tusks. If I had my way, I would play a dunmer on DC....but that ain't happening. The only reason I'm playing DC is because I don't want to be in an extremely overpopulated faction, and it also appears that a lot of hardcoe ES players will be in it as well. Plus, Highrock and Hammerfell look to be pretty badass, from the small snippets of them shown.

if they were mating between each other from the moment they became half Mer then they are still half Mer - if they dilluted with blood of even lesser races then yes, they would stop being half Mer
bust most probably majority kept themselves to the rest of breton simpletons

Actually, the evolution of Bretons since their intermingling with the Direnni Altmer is well-documented in the lore.

After driving the Direnni out of High Rock, Bretons mingled with several populations of human that sprung up in places such as Colovia, Skyrim, the Niben Bay region, and later Hammerfell. Later human-dominated empires ensured that Breton bloodlines mixed often with those of other humans, as opposed to the more geographically (and culturally) distant elves.

The Bretons aren't like the Altmer in terms of keeping their lineage "pure"; they were quite happy to settle down with any sort of fellow human if the mood took them. Thousands of years of this all but guarantees that a true human-Direnni half-breed no longer exists at the time of 4E, and likely long before.

As for the dev Q&A, I'm disappointed to see that they'll basically be glossing over Redguard class struggles. They've stated that Morrowind's great houses will have quests related to them; why not a quest or two focusing on the friction between Crowns and Forbears?

Speaking of quests, my attention was immediately caught by the question about the Redguard gods, and I was pleased to see that they'll feature in the game (I've heard a few grumbles about Skyrim diluting provincial religions by making the Eight/Nine Divines the general religion for everyone, so it's good to see that steps are being taken to prevent that happening here). But I also noticed that the question asked whether or not there would be quests relating to these gods. The response never bothered to answer that question; it just said that the priests of these gods would be prominent. The priests being prominent doesn't mean that the gods themselves will be, and even if there are quests relating to the priests (which the response doesn't tell us), that doesn't necessarily mean that those quests will relate to the gods themselves. And when the response says "prominent," does that mean prominent in the same way that Talos is prominent in Skyrim (really important in terms of background and stage-setting, but not important enough to have quests specifically designed to worship and/or serve him), or the way that Vivec is prominent in Morrowind (who is so important to the region that his religion is not only a faction itself, but also has a major place in the main quest itself)?

It was good to hear they will be featuring the Redguard God's, Also the last answer was interesting to me: ''The Rogue in our Facebook cover photo is indeed a Breton, representing the Daggerfall Covenant. You’ll be learning more about this character very soon!''

Even better to hear they will be releasing more information soon.

What are you going to do when nobody plays your side because they all want to be pretty elves, cat people or Vikings?
Leave the cats alone.

and this is why ESO and the idea of fixed faction whos provinceyou can't even enter will fail miserable

If i was the leader of one of those factions and i wanted to become emperor first thing i would do is to destroy/ eliminate the competition , there would be no opposing factions left anymore and their provinces will be part of my empire if i won

but since that willbe impossible the whole idea and implementation of different factions is a failure

so why do they even bother with these factions and so called background stories that don't even make sense
