Problem after leaving Miraak temple for the first time

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:16 pm

Well, Frea tells me to go see her father so he can help us , then when I'm outside the temple(last place a saved), Frea goes out as well then fall underground (usually bellow the small stairs)..When I help her stay above ground (like shouting on her before she goes ) she just act like I'm a total strangers, she just goes home in her house, without talking to the other guy to trigger my next quest.

I am quite desperate because, well my auto-saves are as well after leaving the temples, so I can't restart that quest, and my second save is far in the dawnguard expansion -.- oh god I love wasting my money.I don't want to make another character and re-do all those quest like a fourth time :(.Nor do I want to take my other save so far away.

I am doomed.I'm going to cry in foetal position in the shower.

I've noticed alot of people are having the same issues. I don't know why, but I was able to get through the Dragonborn main questline and all of the other side quests without any noticable bugs and only a few random freezes and I'm playing on one of the oldest Xbox 360 models. I sure hope that that the developers get to the bottom of these problems, because it's not fair to have to pay for something that doesn't work properly and is bugged. If they do plan to release more DLC, it seems as though these problems are only going to continue to get worse.

Well having got this far in a Bethesda game you should really start to manually save a bit more, do not ever depend on autosaves to get you out of trouble.

When you spoke to Frea's father, was it a normal time of day or at night? Try speaking to him at a different time of day. And do not go murdering innocent NPC's. I would try not shouting at Frea as well, if she gets stuck just leave her there, they usually just teleport to the right place if they are needed.

There are a few who have run into problems because they installed the 1.8 patch after they had installed Dragonborn, you did install the patch before the DLC?

I don't know, I usually save alternatively on 2 different saves. and I did installed the 1.8 patch before buying dragonborn.I'l try talking to her father on a different time of the day.I'm usually lucky about bugs and I really don't get any often, but this one is bad, because I just can't go on.

Unless you are really struggling for free space you should use a lot more than just two slots, unless you have another twenty characters created that all need space as well.

Look, that was really sad what you said about crying in the shower, but honestly, I can only maybe understand a Skyrim newbie on the vanilla game realizing he doesn't have a good earlier save. You're at least 2 DLCs in so stop playing with fire and save like a demon, like I do.

And when followers are stuck, they'll pretty much always unstick when you go through a door--the doors where the game goes to black and you wait while it loads the next area--or you fast-travel.

And, I echo Aussie's admonition against killing NPCs. There are several quests from those villagers which you've screwed yourself out of. One of them leads to Words of Power, so as many gamers learned the hard way in the vanilla game, murder sprees are not helpful.
