Will there never be better Armor than Daedric?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 2:12 am

Seeing as daedric in lore is the best short of maybe a few of the most powerful artifacts, I don't see why any armor that is stronger should be introduced. Besides, most armor in the games can get over, or at least very close to, the armor cap at 567 armor rating. Flawless Steel Plate with all the heavy armor perks that increase AR have just short of 500 AR with two more quality ranks to reach.

No, never. Not a common craftable type of armor anyway. This is the way it should be. Lorewise, daedric has always been the strongest material. Mortal man and mer can't create anything stronger. Maybe we'll get some kind of special artifact type of armor that is, but if so, it better be something truly special, like Talos armor, otherwise many like myself will call shenanigans.

Talos Armour eh? Hmm, would be cool but has kinda been done already.

I would like to see some divine-gifted armors as part of some Skyrim DLC or future ES game. At some point, the 9 will have to take more of an interest in mortals. Right?

Um, Knights of the Nine? I'd like the Crusader's Armour for Skyrim though :D

They already did that in TESIV: Kights of the Nine.

Beat me to it D:

Oblivion. You got to Retreive his Armor.

I was hoping for the full set, not just his chest piece, and maybe something that he wore as a general when he was first called "Talos" not that piece of crap CoC Emperor armor we got. Don't get me wrong, I liked it for the looks, but boy did it svck. Good thing I was pretty much a god already in Oblivion by the time I beat the MQ, or I would've been getting my ass kicked. A lot.

I have smithed Daedric, Nordic Carved, and Dragonbone. My current character is wearing Daedric and he is a total bada$$. I came close to my current armor rating of 1795 with the other sets, but nothing can touch my Daedric. So I will have to agree with the OP, Daedric amror is the bomb!

That's true. Maybe if we asked Beth nice enough....Wait, what am I saying?! As if they actually listen to their players. Ha!

Considering that the defense from armor is capped at 80% (achived at 567 armor rating if you use all 5 pieces, 667 without any armor pieces) your armor rating of 1795 is overkill and not nessesary.

But they do...A lot of the new additions have been fan demands like:
1. Long range killcams
2. Buildable player houses
3. Adoption
4. Dragon riding
5. Horse combat

There are a few others, but this shows they do listen. Hearthfire is the biggest example.

I didn't say it wasn't overkill. You're correct in your assessment. I just find new ways of dealing with enemies. The first time I sheathed my weapon and Mike Tysoned a dragon, I thought my wife (real life) was gonna kill me! She's gotten used to it now though....lol.

yep, you read it right. I made some kick a$$ armor this time. I was able to make a potion that allowed me to improve my armor by 112%.

Ok, maybe my statement was wrong, i'll give you that, but these things aren't fixing problems, they're causing them. As for kill cams, I dislike them. Well sometimes. Usually in big battles or when i'm forced to keep using my magicka because i'm in a kill cam. That was a problem. Hearthfire was a nice addition but was it really asked for? Dragon riding was asked for but not as it has been implemented. Horse combat was but not with spells.

Actually, it was. Players wanted to be able to build a house of their own. I was a little disappointed in the "cooki cutter" style houses they gave us as well as the inability to renovate them, but all things aside, it is pretty cool to be able to build a house and furnish it to your liking ( somewhat).

I'm not going to keep posting because it will just go on and on, but on the HF subject: Yes you can build and furnish a house, but it's all done for you. Not everyone feels like they've built it, and the furnishing options are all chosen for you. Yes, I know you can place items you find yourself, but on a console it's rather difficult without extreme patience. Maybe PC is easier? The same could be said about the whole dragon riding thing in the new DLC. People asked for it but it wasn't quite what they wanted. Does this make sense?

I'm not looking to argue about it. There are some people who ask for things and get them and some people who ask for things and don't get them. Those that get them are either happy with the things or they're not. Those that don't ask for things but get them anyway either like or dislike them. No more needs to be said on this.

Correct.
Daedric is ebony infused with the essence of a daedra.
There isnt really anything that goes above that, barring artifacts.
But when it comes to armour and weapons that are not one of a kind, daedric is as good as its gonna get.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't Aetherium (sorry if I've mispelt it) a Divine material?
If so, then if we were able to make some Aetherium armour, then that would potentially be better than Deadric.

Aetherium could be a special material stronger than daedric, but it is very rare.
As such its best classed under artifacts, daedric can be mass-produced (in a fashion) but aetherium can not.

That's not what I meant. It's pointless going that high since the armor cap is like 567 or something like that.

Of course, as with all things, but no one can deny that Bethesda listens to their fans. You already agreed, so I'm just reiterating. Those who haven't gotten what they wanted will feel differently, but they cant give everyone what they want.

If any normal armor was going to do it then it should have been dragon but I suppose some new divine armor could be.

I only asked for one bug fix. The one for bounties in Dawnstar. Surely that is simpler too fix then some of the things Beth have been offering lately :(

Dude, look at how many bugs there are. Asking Beth to notice one bug fix request out of all the rest is a bit redic. They do their best with updates, and they fixed some of the perk bugs with the new respec option (also a fan request) like the shield charge bug.

And don't forget updates cost cash money, and are apparently tedious to do, and we get them for free.

I know, I understand that there are lots of bugs that need fixing, but it seems Skyrim (vanilla, without any other DLCs/add-ons) is one of the buggiest games of recent times. I can understand if Beth started fixing bugs in regular patches, but I feel it's not happening. We're a day away from 13 months since release and the bug I referenced was there from day one. I'm not saying they're not fixing bugs, as they are (i.e the arrows not vanishing from body etc), but that they could do more rather then keep adding new things. That's my own opinion on the matter.

Now... this is going off topic so yeah...

What about a special option for smithing? If you get certain perks, you can mix. Stalhrim making glass stronger, nordic carved armor improving imperial and so on... And most importantly, mixing daedric and dragon. Maybe you would need dragon armor, and then with a daedra heart cover it with ebony... maybe adding a part or two of armor (more metallic).
