Will there never be better Armor than Daedric?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 10:39 am

What you guys think? Will Beth never add better Armor in skyrim than Daedric? Few armor set almost match Daedric, but still they have best Base Armor. And they are coolest (my opinion).

Why would it matter? Any armor can be smithed up to greater than the armor cap.

No, never. Not a common craftable type of armor anyway. This is the way it should be. Lorewise, daedric has always been the strongest material. Mortal man and mer can't create anything stronger. Maybe we'll get some kind of special artifact type of armor that is, but if so, it better be something truly special, like Talos armor, otherwise many like myself will call shenanigans.

I would like to see some divine-gifted armors as part of some Skyrim DLC or future ES game. At some point, the 9 will have to take more of an interest in mortals. Right?

If they ever gather enough strength to be able to maybe. Talos is powerful enough to do so since he never lost any power, but he achieved chim, so he might not care due to the state of mind one has when you achieve chim.

This. Unless an armor of Daedric origin is brought into Skyrim, it is impossible to beat Daedric. Not like it'd matter. Nearly any armor can hit the cap.

I hope there won't be. As a light armor Character, I have never, not once in all my hours of skyrim, acquired deadric armor. That's the way it should be. It's strength should match its rarity too. It's the armor of demon solders that serve the prince of destruction. There shouldn't be anything that equals it unless its the armor of a god like Tiber Septem or someone like it.

Daedric is overkill.

I made myself a full set when I was pretty darn low level. At the time, I did not know about an armor cap of 597, but that first set may
have actually got me there.

I just made a full set of nordic, being at 796 with my one hand and shield (the way I like to play.)

So it really doesn't matter about "better" than daedric. I'd be more into "cooler" looking.

I do kind of like the nordic on my nord female.
-------------------------------

Hmmm, the smithing potion or something must not have been working? I could have sworn
I drank one before making my nordic stuff legendary. However, when smithing up a reaver
dead thralls gear, I noticed mine could be too...

Now I'm 1296 in heavy nordic, with shield... odd. This is still just with 1 point in the first heavy armor
tree, after I removed 4 when I respecced (freeing them up for other stuff, since you can still
do the whole heavy armor tree.)

They already did that in TESIV: Kights of the Nine.

Yeah, once you learn to pass the armor cap, it all comes down to appearance.

Indeed. I have Chitin sitting at well over a thousand.

Go for what looks good OP. Don't concern yourself with base stats. They dont matter.

Go for style and what fits your role play. All armor types can be effective with a little enchanting and/or smithing.

Once you discover how great smithing is the stats on armor (and weapons) become irrelevant.

This. I don't think I care about stats in any game. If it looks cool, I'll use it. If its inefficient, I'll adapt. IMO makes for a much better experience.

I absolutely love the smithing and armor cap in this game because it allows me to make every single piece of armor totally viable for all levels and all difficulties.

As for Daedric armor, I expect it will be the strongest base armor, but as others have said, unique artifacts, either aedric or daedric could easily surpass basic daedric armor.

I'd love some kind of mythic Dragonbone armor. Like Alduin-Bone Armor. I was kinda upset I couldn't take Anything from him after the fight. Even just some reinforced Dragonbone armor would be nice though, something like 'Skyforge Dragonbone armor' which would be Dragonbone reinforced with Skyforge Steel.

I lov the lore and all, but I don't like that evil devil armor is the best. I think at some point man would overcome the technological gap and manage to forge superior armor. Man and Mer have certainly overcome the Daedra in almost all other manners. (Looking at you, CoC)

I agree. In oblivion you could cheat up a bit too using things like fireshield enchantments too. I never use the super high end stuff. I have always though the more early to mid game stuff to be more aesthetically pleasing and fitting to my characters.

Yeah everyone has own opinions, but Dragonbone should be better than now. Maybe someday they update it little bit.

The only non Artifact armor that has ever surpassed Daedric, was Perfect Madness Armor in Shivering Isles. It beat Daedric Armor by 1 point of Armor on each piece.

The Dragonbone Cuirass artifact in Morrowind actually was better than Daedric. It had higher AR, as well as 100% Resist Fire.

Oblivion. You got to Retreive his Armor.

So Maybe we will be able to do so again? Especially if you side with the Stormcloaks?

To the OP

No, Nothing Can beat Deadric, And Probably never will. Ebony is probably the cloest. or from the Dragonborn Dlc.. Nordic Carved Armor. Is the closet to Deadric.

They could allways add a new kind of deadric armor. I mean it dosent nessesarly have to look so evil and spiky to be deadric.

And this new deadric armor could be better then the current deadric armor.
