Whirlwind Cloak: Too powerful to be useful?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 5:09 am

thanks, I'm getting frustrated as I did a handful of quests for him and still haven't gotten this quest...is it one of the help with research quests? he cast some spell on me and it says wait for side effects but I haven't had anything happen in a few days

this sounds useful in giving you time to charge master spells without the ethereal shout
To get the side effect go swimming.

To make the spell work you need to move in and out of it's effect range. If you just stand still, it is unlikely to work at all.

It will also work if you're in the rain too, but jumping in the water surrounding the tower is easier.

I believe the spell says it has a chance of flinging people away. Vampires with the necromage perk seem to have a much higher chance. In my case its almost every time. Its a chance per second type of spell

Yeah, I have the spell on another Character, and it seems to be a kind of "50% chance" kind of thing, where-as, on my Vampire Character with Necromage, I seem to fling them away 90% of the time.
I'm not sure how the mechanics of this thing work, but it's either the Necromage perk adding to the % Chance of Flinging people away, or I'm just insanely Lucky.

No prob. Took me forever to figure it out too. Only pulled it off when I went to get the kagrumez gem in the dwemer ruins from the mq.
