Dunmer Shoes will accept Fortify Smithing enchantment.

Thanks for finding it :thanks:

I can't help noting the following:

In cases where the DLC has some catastrophically bad issue (e.g. like The Pitt's missing asset bugs), we may re-upload the entire DLC, but in that case users are getting an entirely new .esm, not a patch.

So, it would be possible for them to use the update mechanism to replace the game files added by the DLC. On a side note, I was not aware that it had been done for The Pitt.

They have flat out said in the past they can't.
So then what exactly is the point of releasing a beta if they "can't" change anything? Seems kind of weird since they ask people to test the DLC before release and report the bugs they encounter. I guess they just want to know what they messed up on despite the fact that they supposedly can't fix them?

I guess to make sure the DLC isn't absolutely game-breaking or unplayable?

They could be considered two different products? That is, the Dragonborn DLC beta is, well, one product and the actually released Dragonborn DLC is a different product? This would require that beta users uninstalled the beta DLC prior to installing the "real" DLC. I haven't been a beta tester, so I don't know if that is how it works. And it could differ from platform to platform. Steam workshop can update user created mods, but maybe there are some issues with doing the same on XBox and/or PS3?

As I recall hearing the Dawnguard Beta testers were told thats how it worked. They had to uninstall the DLC and redownload it when the release verison was made

is there a bug with the mask? or do you mean patch it to where it has an enchantment thats worth something?
Yeah, you can't upgrade it. Or his gloves/boots.

I'd also like to make the enchantment actually useful and unique as well.

Can't patch a DLC because patches push to consoles as updates. And not everybody who plays Skyrim has got the DLC, so if the update got pushed to them, their games would not even load because the update would be looking for something ("Dragonborn DLC" for instance) that isn't even there. Anybody who plays on PC and messes around with mods knows this pain (of missing masters and games crashing at load).

So.

Long story short: Bethesda CAN'T patch DLC. Not because they don't have the ability but because if they do, all the gamers who have Skyrim but no DLC will be straight screwed.

You have to have the Perfect Touch perk (100 Pickpocket) to pickpocket equipped clothing.

Yes, you can kill the guy that sleeps in the abandoned house. He has them on him; wasn't able to pickpocket them but took them no problem once he was 'indisposed' of!!

Ok i got them but i had to get my pickpocketing to 100 and respec accordingly. Best way to level up pickpocketing is find or create fortify pickpocketing.four apparel is the limit. and just go around taking rings and amulets or any other high value jewelry.i got mine from 58 to 100 in 2 and a half hours and finaly got the shoes but i thought i could enchant fortify alchemy on them but that wasn't the case but they will be fantastic for my mage.and it's nice that i can kill that guy is he a quest giver?

Nope, he isn't a quest giver; just a guy that was stuck on one of the stones that you free during the MQ.

Nope, DLC can't directly interact with other DLC due to differences in the load order. The PS3/360 can't adjust load order so the patch download could be loaded before the other DLC rendering it useless. This was brought up in New Vegas as to why the grunt perk from Honest Hearts couldn't effect grunt type weapons from other DLC. The PC can get around this because using something like the Mod Manager lets you directly effect the load order.

Like someone said earlier you can also pickpocket them with the last two perks on pickpocketing anyone who's wearing a dunmer outfit will have them on them.

Wher can i find these shoes before beth patches it?
I think this falls under the "fun"/"useful" glitches that they said they wouldn't patch. Like the bucket over the head thing and the infinite Oghma Infinium glitch.

This is correct. I couldn't pickpocket the shoes because I don't have the perk. I had to kill some poor sap just to get his shoes. Reminds me of people getting shot for their air jordans.
