Theme Stealing

Hello Everyone,

First time poster, so bare with me if i am abit slow on the uptake :D

After never before playing a 'TES' game the first one i ever tried was indeed Skyrim, and what can I say apart from I absolutely love it!, the lore, the amazing environments, the mix of races which all blend together and yet all fracture and split, the history of the alliances, how all regions have vied for power spanning over 4 Eras. So with all this and yet even more to come would it be wrong for me to vigorously fantasize about mixing another one of my most beloved lore themed hobbies into the mix?

Well that’s why I'm going to try!

I am (sad to say) a Warhammer 40k lover, and have been vigorously trying to mate TES and (various) 40K themed lore together to produce god only knows what!

After viewing the World of Nirn and the geography of Tamriel I can’t help but feel as big and beautiful as it all is, there’s still so much more that could be added.

Now your probably all thinking ‘where’s this guy coming from and wtf is he on about 0_o’ but the idea I have is a simple one, but is hard to execute so I’ll break down the foundation of my plotting and scheming into simple areas,
  • New regions and geography changed for tamriel.
  • A new god made from mortals by mortals. (Aka the Emperor of mankind from 40k theme)
  • Characteristics from the 40k based primarch’s and their legions.
Now this may seem a lot to take onboard at first but bear with me,

1 Justification of a new ‘God Emperor’
With the realm of Nirn’s creation the Aedra were confined to their own realms, (as goes standard TES lore) so with their only direct source of divine intervention coming in at the most serious levels required, (such as the oblivion Crisis) mortals took in upon themselves to create a new source of dominant and protective power, Aka, the ‘God Emperor’ a mix of Both Elven an mankind races, basically, by petitioning the Elder gods they were able to seal a pact that by blending the souls of the greatest warriors, thinkers, mages and the most important traits of all compassion, understanding, tolerance (basically being super goodies) sacrificed their individualism and melded together to become a ‘divine’- mortal, still able to be destroyed, but so powerful no one dared to challenge him (not that im sixist just I’ve always viewed being an Emperor as a mans role and ‘m stealing it from the 40k theme )

Upon the creation of the ‘Divine- Emperor’ a swelling of new power fills Nirn allowing it to be geographically changed (allowing for new realms and etc), now the new Emp will have to forgo a lot of resistance and campaigning to establish his well intentioned ‘authority’ over the new lands in order to proclaim peace (ironic I know killing people to stop the killing of people -_-)

So to do so from his ‘Divine Form’ he creates champions of his own being (His sons’ the Primarchs) whether he magically creates them or does it the old fashioned way is still in the works.

These Sons are created and come to power, but following 40k guide lines are separated all over Nirn (somehow) and thusly create empires and realms of their own choosing.

Now every primarch faction will be able to recruit from every race, but some factions may have a higher level of individuals from certain races (just to suit their theme/s style)
And some ‘missing’, or ‘extinct’ races will be resoted.

So, if you are or are not aware, here is how the Primarchs from 40k stand, (names and faction perks will need to be twiddled to make them more skyrimy)

1 Ultramarines – Made up on Imperials, Nords, redguard, Khajit and High Elves

2 Dark Angels – Nords- Wood elfs, Imperials, Dwarves- Bretons

3 Imperial Fists – Imperials – High Elves – Redguard- Orcs- - Dwarves

4 Salamanders- Redguard- Imperials dwarves – Orcs- Argonians

5 Lunar Wolves – Nords- Orcs- Imperials- Akaviri- High Elves

6 Iron Warriors- Orcs- Argonians – Imperials – Dark Elves- Dwarves

7 World Eaters- Argonians – Orcs- Nords- Bretons – Wood Elves

8 White Scars – Akaviri – Orcs – Bosmer- Dark elves – Khajit

9 Blood Angels – Imperials – Bretons- High Elves- Dark Elves Snow Elves

10 Space Wolves – Nords – Imperials – Orcs- Bretons – Snow Elves

11 Raven Guard- Khajit – Wood Elves- Dark Elves- Bretons –Imperials

12 Deathguard- Imperials – Bosmer- Orcs- High Elves – Argonians

13 Emperors Children – Akaviri – High Elves – Snow Elves – Dark Elves- Imperials

14 Night Lords- Wood Elves – Imperials – Argoians – Dark Elves – Orcs

15 Alpha Legion – Imperials Argonians – high Elves – Dwarves – Red Guard

16 Word Bearers – Bretons – Dark Elves – Argonians – Red guard – Wood Elves

17 Iron Hands – Dwarves, Orcs, Nords, Dark Elves Khajit

18- Thousand Sons – Redguard – Aldmeri – Dark Elves – Bretons – Dwarves

Now just like being a werewolf or certain perks you pick up each faction would have its ow boons, im still working on more relevant stuff so let me know if you think its not a bad idea or vice versa

font's too big too, I don't think I want to read this either on the normal forums.

also why is it pink? pink's not a color I think when I think easy to read.

just stick to default font size and text please.

We already have a god made by mortals (supposedly) of a mortal...Talos...AKA Tiber Septim...AKA Hjalti...AKA whatever names exist for him.

And I can live without the 40k rubbish thank you. The only clan worth a [censored] are the space wolves. To oblivion with the rest.

Ahh well haters gonna hate

Talos was also made divine by the 8, (first found by kyne), he was a mortal, not made from mixed mortals. (very confusing genre cross over so not expecting you too understand entirely)

And true, just stealing ideas from the 40k lore for new 40k themed factions, so like rough handgenre cross overs and stuff, so instead of bolters they use swords and etc. and I dont really care much for Talos, the other 8 divines though i like

Man I hate 40k. It has to be the most ridiculously over-the-top franchise in sci-fi history, and most certainly not in a good way (would be if it was comedy). I hate it even more than I hate MLP, and that's saying a lot.

On topic, I don't see what you are going at here. Do you want a mod like this? Do you want Bethesda to merge the two franchises (hint: won't happen) or what?

A mod like it

I just liked the idea of their their sci fi over advanced antics being reversed, seeing what they would be like as medieval styled warriors in a mythic setting, I'd never ever expect 40k and bethesda to join, im slow but im not stupid,

Basically a big twist on the TES game-play and factions stuff which would see various and unique paterns of customization for very different yet similar factions, Most of the 40k armies are based of knightly orders and stuff from history, or nordic/celtic origin, and even Mongolian, so rather than take a direct cross over with factions like the blood angels for example (who I believe are based upon renaissance period Venetians) I'd take aspects of them I like, such as their red and gold armor colors, with winged helmets and emblems, and cross them into skyrim (not as sci fi armor but as as reworked medieval style armor and stuff) also give them a few custom perks and traits, give them a military structure like the Imperials so they are organised and etc in their chain of command, so rather than seeing them as 'space marines' they would be knightly order of great power, with the same kinda traits and themes from the 40k setting, so their honor guard would wear old armor with gold masks, their knights would wear red armor with white and gold, their initiates lesser lighter amour and stuff. instead of having geneseed and biological enhancements (the science-y way) they receive blessings from their Primarch (The magicy way) and different abilities that aid them in become fearsome knights and warrior/mages that helps them excel.

Sorry if thats a little complicated kinda hard to explain using written format.

Well, if it's a mod you want then start doing it. As a modder with years of experience, no mod of any scale will ever get you help from others so you are on your own.

Also, hate to break it for you but a mod of this scale will never, ever be complete. It would take years of modding and it's most certainly not the first ambitious mod to try and inevitably fail.

EDIT: Not to come off as hostile of course, though I suppose it's a bit late to say that. Thing is, threads like these pop up like mushrooms when it's raining and they all inevitably die out due to lack of experience and interest in modding.

What I'm saying is, I'm not mocking your ideas here but I'm just warning you here. Mods are things that are easier said than done. I recommend you take up modding to see the grim realities of it.
