Not exactly. If you are invisible then you can not been seen. If you use a invisibility spell the effects would not be permanently, if you have Chameleon at 100% then you are invisible constantly. Sneaking does not make you invisible only spells do make you invisible. It would be interesting to see the outcome of PVP if there will be a PVP arena the person who is using Chameleon would be invincible. They probably would not allow stealth in PVP but only in PVE.

There is a fine balance between making sneak OP, and making it worthless. IMO removing sneak from a TES game would significantly diminish the TES'ness.

I just read the thread, and maybe I missed it, but sneaking is not 100% invisible in Cyradiil. When you sneak in the PvP areas, you will still leave a shadow on the ground. So, you will need to use the shadows to be truly invisible.

The line of sight thing is for NPCs, not players.
