I don't even, surley you would be able to tell what is in the wrapper because Gold is heavier than chocolate. what if i won? what would i do with the bar? i couldn't just sell it on ebay and i wouldn't want to keep it because it would be too risky to keep a Gold bar in your house.

An ounce of chocolate weighs the same as an ounce of gold.

Gold is Denser than chocolate so the bar would be smaller.

Still, I'm going to go through every bar, get the gold, then complain to Cadbury that I bought a wispa and it had no freakin' chocolate and get the free box o' chocolate they send.

Cadbury's would have done, but I'm not so sure about Kraft. I'm still waiting for the revised Creme Egg made from artificial cheese.

Those would have to be gold plated. More than likely what is plated is a hollow diecast mold then it is plated with gold with electrolytic plating

Presumably, the bars are a prize like any of the others. You enter your code, and it tells you what you've won, then they send you the prize, whether it be a coupon for free chocolate or a solid gold bar. They're not literally waiting to be unwrapped...

If they sell them in stores, what's gonna keep customers from snapping every chocolate bar on the shelf in half to look for the gold? Or who will keep the store employees from giving the candy bars a good squeeze before putting it on the shelf?

At least Cadbury is only using gold colored foil over normal candy bars with the winning code included.

That implies to me that what's out there are wrapped dummy bars (plastic ones painted gold?) and you have to trade them for the real thing...

EDIT: In fact, no, what it implies is that inside the regular wrapper is another, gold wrapper, and inside that is chocolate. And presumably the gold wrapper is your ticket...

I don't think that is quite correct though I'm struggling to find anything on google. It keeps thinking I want to lose weight instead of find the relative weight of chocolate.

Ah, I have made an elementary mistake here. Being staunchly metric I do not know what an ounce is* and thought it to be a unit of volume. Google tells me it is a unit of weight.

Well, of course two things that weight the same, weigh the same and gold is denser than lead so, yes, it would be smaller too.

So, my mistake, boy is my face red.

*And will promptly forget it after this, because I just refuse to learn some arcane thing where distance is measured in un-understandable things like furlongs and body parts like feet when there is a perfectly good metric system out there where all things are decimal and you have none of that sillyness where an ounce is 1/6th of a pound but a pound is 1/14 of a stone.
