I'd give up gaming again if TES or Fallout ever did go console exclusive. I did it for over ten years before I started playing COH on pc about five or so years ago, I could do it again without even a second thought.
Over the years I have owned three Xbox 360s, the first one was a gift with Lost Odyssey, and the other 2 were replacements for the ones that broke.
Let's just say that I don't have a lot of faith in Microsoft and their hardware and am skeptical of the Xbox One.
If Bethesda decided to make a Fall Out or TES console exclusive I am not sure how I'd react to buying it. I know that I would be disappointed for sure.
Thats not a valid reason for your hate, as securing timed and totally exclusive DLC is common practice for both Sony and Microsoft.
Battlefield gets DLC two weeks earlier on PS3 and the Assassins Creed games get totally exclusive DLCs on the PS3
Look... the truth is that the internet, and gaming forums are an overly negitive and hatefull place where people will endulge and spew venom at the drop of a hat... sometimes without any justification or thought. Often times the hate flows first and the thought comes after the fact rationalizing by any means nessecary the un-burdening of all the negitivity.
Haters love to hate regardless of all else.
It makes them feel good.
Microsoft, just like [insert preferred gaming company/computer company here] is a corporation. They are concerned with the bottom line, I neither love nor hate them for it. I see corporations for what they are, and I base my purchases on what is offered, not on my love of a brand.
Hate is such an ugly word. Dissatisfied is a much nicer alternative.
I don't see it happening either. If Microsoft wants an exclusivity deal they'll have to pay for it, like I assume happened with the timed exclusive DLC from Skyrim. But they can't pay so much that it would be worthwhile to permanently have major $10-20 DLC or even entire games exclusive to XB1.
Financially I can't see any way that XB1 exclusive games/DLC from Bethesda would be a profitable affair for either parties, the PS4/PC market will be too big to ignore. Nobody likes things going fully exclusive.
There a multinational company, of-course there greedy and evil - they all are.
I like Halo. That is the only reason for me to even consider buying their consoles. Xbox is a rich man's console and I am not a rich man. Online is expensive, add ons are expensive, consoles are expensive in general, good internet is expensive (for me at least), the controllers are expensive and it is overall too much money invested in video games. I could buy a boat for all the money I would have to invest and a boat is a a better investment. Horrible in the video game division, I hope they stop with games and stick to computers.
Can't speak much for their other divisions (W8 svcks, but thats it)
Yes, I'll hop on "M$ evil greedy, money grubbers" hate train. Everything is so much simpler that way.
Not so much for games, but more for it's largeness. I'm of the ilk that corporations are too large and have too much control - wether in market decision, politics, product control directing forced consumer buying. (Don't get me started on water and ice dispensers in refridgerators! )
Also, when a corp offers a bundle of software for 1/3 of listed price to someone with an .edu email, it makes one wonder just how much gouging there is....
Just because it's a common industry practice, doesn't mean it's a good thing.
Regarding AC, that's probably one of the worst types of exclusive DLC, because it essentially amounts to publishers having creative control over the developers work.
I frankly don't care if these practices are the norm, it's bad for the industry and I wish publishers would drop them.
I think microsoft is ok. There trying at least. With there two free games of the month thing.
I have no love nor hate for Microsoft. I pick a side base on how the console works for my liking. I picked PS2 over Xbox but Xbox 360 over PS3 for obvious reasons (Main one being Rock Band 3 is better on Xbox 360)... So far, I am undecided between Xbox One and PS4.
I was originally afraid that it would just be 100% QTE combat from the way it looked in the E3 trailor, but upon further research individual interviews after the keynote I found out that 90% of the time it feels more hack & slash-esque, & only when bunched up are there a lot of QTE's & you don't even have to take advantage of them... Also, as I said, I'm a big Crytek fan, I trust them enough to risk buying a QTE-based game.
Also I'm liking that there are reasonable arguments being posted, some more so than others, but still I'm more than I have anywhere else I've gone with this question over the internet.
