I have not done a huge amount of research on ESO yet, I am however looking forward to giving it a go. I've been a fan of the universe since Morrowind. That being said I've also played many MMO's, WoW, Warhammer, Guild Wars 1 and 2, DaoC and so on. I want to list some things I've heard (rumors and such) about the game and would like them cleared up so I can have a better idea of what I'm getting myself into as well as voice some concerns and see if anyone shares my opinions.
1. Will the world be persistent? Meaning, will I be able to go from one side of the world to the other without any load screens? ( Not including instances) Having to hit a zone barrier to load the next zone breaks the feeling of being in one large world.
2. How will loot work? I've heard that it will only be viewed by each player respectively. I personally enjoy rolling for loot. Receiving an item after hard work and a good roll always made the feeling much more meaningful and enjoyable to me.
3. I LOVE PVP! It seems that PVP will only be focused on Cyrodil. I am concerned that I will not have the option to go elsewhere and start trouble. Will I even be able to go to other territories at all? Sneaking in or fighting my way in?
4. Portals and warping to different areas, aka fast travel. How will this work? In the Elder Scrolls games I preferred to mount up/ run to reach my destination. Will mounts be very important or not so useful? I never enjoyed the fact that I could just pop myself to a different location with little to no work involved.
I could go on but for now these are my main topics. Regardless of the answers I will be giving this game a shot and certainly do not wish for confrontation in sharing my opinions. I look forward to what this game has to offer.
