Do you ever feel weird thinking back on your time here?

So, I looked to see my join date and realise I've been here for three years and I just thought 'Good lord, where did the time go?' when I saw that. Do any of you ever feel like your time here has just kind of zipped by or long and slow?

Not just on here. I'm pretty constantly confronted with age and date of birth at work since DOB is a meaningful use required field for electronic healthcare records and I'm always going "WHAT? How is it physically possible for person born in year X being Y years old??!!???"

Then I remember that 2000 wasn't 5 years ago.

I was a luddite with no internet connection, then I got one, nosed around, found this forum and joined. My forum age is the same as my internet age. So seems a lot longer than two and a bit years.

As an 05er, yes, it's weird. When I think of 2005 I can't even believe that was 7 years ago. That was really when I first really started Internetting. When I think of it that way then it feels like not too long ago.

I think it's funny to think that the oldest members here have been here long enough for a child to grow up and become a teenager.

ha I catch myself in similar moments when people are talking about things that don't seem that long ago yet they painfully point out that it was over a decade ago and remind me that I'm starting to get old :P

*looks at join date*

Where has the past ten years gone? Hard to believe that it's really been that long- Bloodmoon had just been released, Oblivion was just a rumour, and no one even had a clue about Skyrim.

I wouldn't saw that my time has seemed to have past fast or slow, but then again my time perception is off to begin with..

I was debating with myself on whether or not to join the forums before I actually did, since I wasn't very familiar with them yet.. at the time, I was frequenting Skyrim General before the game came out and was not yet a member. In terms of my time on here, I don't feel as if my time has either gone by too fast or too slow.. I joined last year in the summer months, having taken a break from the forums to put time into the game. It was only after I got bored of being in Skyrim General that I decided to move here to Community Discussion.. overall I'm glad that I joined the forums because I feel happy here and there are also a lot of people who, like me, have Aspergers and in the end it's like a home environment. :D
