New Lord of The Rings game

Post » Thu Nov 21, 2013 6:36 am

Oh there is nothing wrong with all of these in "theory", in practice... well. Just wait until the crappy open world games start showing up, and they will. They have before. They can be a nightmare. I'm struggling to think of an example though. I will agree there "could" be a game in there that is good. All bad games start as good ideas at some point. However the odds are really against you if your a betting man.

Shhh I made up the whole quota thing to spare feelings. Also to not derail this thread any further. Don't tell people my secret. :ninja: Or else... nothing really. I'm on a computer screen. I'll glare it it very hard though hrrrrr.....

Looks pretty damn awful.

Half-wraith? What the [censored]? Tolkien's rolling in his grave.

If you know Tolkien, then you would know there's more then one type of wraith. There's also the barrow wrights, who are described as "possessing" dead skeletons. So theoretical, possession is possible in Tolkien.

I'm excited.

It looks awesome! Playing as a ranger possessed by a wraith sounds bad-ass.

I agree. The Lord of the Rings universe has a lot of potential for really cool games. But most lotr games have been awful :/

I hope that's not concept art at the top of the page. It looks like a world of warcraft cover, in fact the whole thing looks 'cartooneyed' up a bit, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but it is for a lotr game.

Battle for middle earth and its sequel were okay at capturing the spirit of the movies big battle scenes, probably the only lotr game I would enjoy now.

I liked WITN so I'll be looking at this.

I just hope they use the movie soundtrack.

I was going to say something along these lines, but thanks Gamgee for doing it first. :tops:

My first thought when I saw that picture was "Oh [censored]" :shakehead:
