It is a great tool of convenience. It has a few drawbacks but, usually acceptable for the benefit of time management.

A LFG tool is a good thing to have, but the ones I've seen in other MMOs tend to be pretty fail. One that I liked the basic idea of just provided a list of who was looking to group for a particular dungeon or zone. The problem is that that's all it lists. Player name, role, and the dungeon they are looking to group up for. As such, few ever really use it.
