Most assuredly a disturtbance. (All Jedis turn to the stars and get a pained look on their faces.)

I will miss her and may she rest in peace, becoming one with the force :)

My sister texted me an hour ago saying that she had heard the news from someone at work, but wasn't sure if it was true or not. *sigh* I was hoping it wasn't true but at the same time I knew the odds really weren't that great. :(

Star Wars has been such a part of my life (...maybe not including the so-called prequels) so it's hard for me to find the words right now. Our Princess is gone, she is now one with the force.

Hmm... I own the first two Star Wars releases as imported Japanese pressings on Laserdisc. (Cost me a pretty penny back in the day.) Watched movie one either earlier this year or late last year. Never got around to the second movie, which I recall as being my favorite of the two. (Unlike many here, I'm no Star Wars worshiper. But I do like those first two movies.) Might watch it tonight or sometime tomorrow.

This must be tough on her. I also hope that she is doing alright.

This year it just seemed it hit the bigger big names especially in music but in sports as well.

I just saw this in my feed.

"The Princess stole my heart at age 7. Anybody who knows me knows #CarrieFisher was my first love. I thrilled to the adventures of #princessleia in the @starwars movies, but from '77 to '84, I was in love with Carrie Fisher herself. My bedroom was filled with Carrie Fisher pictures from any movie she was ever in (including Polaroids I took off the TV when #thebluesbrothers hit cable). I was jealous of Paul Simon when he was dating Carrie Fisher and wouldn't listen to his music until they split up. I paid to see Carrie Fisher and #chevychase in Under the Rainbow nine times when it was in theaters (mostly because Carrie Fisher was in underwear in one scene). In childhood, I committed myself to Carrie Fisher without ever meeting her the way novice Nuns commit themselves to Christ without meeting Him. Decades later, I got to tell her this when Carrie Fisher and @jaymewes were in a station wagon on the set of #jayandsilentbobstrikeback. She was gracious about hearing it for the zillionth time from the zillionth man or woman who grew up idolizing her, but wickedly added "I'm glad to know I helped you find your light saber." And with that, she stopped being Carrie Fisher to me and just became Carrie. That's the Carrie I'll always remember: the dutiful standard-bearer of childhood dreams with a the wicked sense of humor and a way with words. She didn't want to get paid for her role in @jayandsilentbob Strike Back; instead, she asked that we buy her these antique beaver chairs. Her reason: "Beaver seems an appropriate currency for this movie." When she was a guest on Season 1 of our @hulu show #Spoilers, Carrie curled up in the throne like she belonged there. And she did: after all, she was royalty. As a boy, I dreamed of marrying Carrie Fisher. As a young filmmaker, I dreamed of casting Carrie Fisher. As an advlt, I dreamed of being as sharp-witted and prepossessed as Carrie Fisher. And now that Carrie Fisher is gone, I'll dream of my friend Carrie - whose entire magnificent career I was lucky enough to witness, whose honesty made me a better person, and whose spirit - like The Force - will be with us always. Goodnight, Sweet Princess..." - Kevin Smith

This sounds like a wonderful idea, though I only have the "post-Special editions." Maybe I'll throw in The Blues Brothers to make up for it :)

RIP princess. You went too young! ...and I repeat others statements, the force will be with you, always! (Sorry, had to.)

Slight alteration to your quote, but I'm about to do the same!

Indeed it does.

" Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is."

Easier said than done, Yoda! :stare:

Carrie will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace.

I just bought a Black Series Princess/General Leia figure, it wasn't easy to find in the store.

Anyway here it is: https://scontent.ftul1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15727087_1264037250322808_5393182664111666282_n.jpg?oh=b8aedf48f28982d19fab7978443acafd&oe=58F1C9A3. Interesting to note I have her next to Admiral Ackbar who's actor also passed away this year.

The Force Awakens version, she wears it just as Rey leaves to find Luke at the end of the film.

For the last few days I've been waking up and my first thoughts were to see if she has passed.

God help her, God help us, God I hope this life isn't a one way ticket to nothingness.
