To be quite frank, his opinion is stupid. He tries to argue that BRINK is a bad game because it mingles (mainly) positive features of other (mostly) good games.
Really the only people I can see arguing like that are the die-hard COD players.
I'd understand if he'd said "I don't like BRINK because it has no large maps and vehicle combat", like a Battlefield player could argue.

But he just doesn't make sense.

Why bother convincing your friend to play BRINK if he's a CoD head? its people like that WE DONT WANT to play brink because tehy'll ruin it.

I want them to buy it, rq first day, and never come back. That way they can atleast help keep game going.

All your buddys points are valid (except for 'Parkour- ... Battlefield Bad Company 2' Since when is there real Parkour in BF:BC2 ?) but just tell him you can say that about any game. Every game copies another game in one way shape or form. If its not broken don't fix it. Now if you were to tell him the key points you mentioned in the OP, and he denied those, then he is just an ignorant [censored].

Brink will be different because all those games together (what he is suggesting)
will be a UBER SICK GAME if its the truth
