Posting and Threads

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:22 pm

Perhaps u come across a topic that u have particular interest in, maybe a question was asked that u have an answer for or maybe something else and so u go into the thread and find that the thread is LOOONG!

DO YOU...

1.Read through the whole thread and then finally post what u think of the situation?

OR

2.Skip the entire thread and post your answer?

OR

3.Find that so many of the thread is saying what u wanna say and just leave it as is and find something else of interest?

Usually #3. That's why I only have 300 posts as I usually find what I was looking for quickly. I guess I should start posting more often to help others or contribute to threads. Hmmmm.....

Okay, I made this thread becos I'v been burned so many times becos I didnt read through the whole thread but instead, becos I had something that I wanted to say I just went straight to saying so and I wanted to see what others thought or did in such situations.

If I am interested in the topic, I will read it thoroughly and react honestly. That's the best one can hope for.

Great guys, I'm surely not the only one, but I seem to choose 2 more than any other

Anyone who answers 2 is clearly lying.

HAHA!

I will say tho that 3 is pretty close to 2, It's like, what I wanna say has been sed already a thousand times over in this thread, what's the point of adding to the mass that is the thing u wanna say even if it is burning to be sed? Unless I have a different spin on the topic then maybe I'l say so... I'l go find sumthing else of interest.

1.comes in last, there's no way I'm ganna read all that and if the initial post is long to begin with, I'm probably not gonna read it.

1 or 3, never 2 because that is just lazy and in many cases that is just spam.

Most threads on these forums don't even reach a thousand words per page so I worry about those that feel threads are so long they can't read through them before making a reply.

I'll always read the first few posts at least, because thread titles are not always a good barometer about what the OP intends/wants to discuss.

If the topic is long (over 7-8 pages) and more than a "what's your favorite cookie?" type of topic, I'll often read the first couple pages, then the last couple pages, then post a reply if I have one. If that makes me lazy, so be it, but I have no desire to read every single word of every thread I ever click on the internet.

More often than not, it's #3. But sometimes I have nothing better to do/am bored so I'll respond anyway. :)

1 or 3. I never read the OP and just blindly posts something before reading through the entire thread. I like to take my time and post as many relevant and decent posts as possible. Typical people who does what you wrote in 2 are often spammers. I think everyone should take their time before posting something.

Either on of these, I I'm feeling particularly trollish I'll quote as many as possible

I hardly ever read the entire thread, but it has happened a few times.

I usually just do number 3.
