Potential bug for killing Dead Sea early?

Post » Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:11 pm

Boone and I was walking through Novac pretty early in the game, and i remember playing in the first playthrough that Nelson is probably not far from there, so I decided to massacre everyone in Nelson and save every NCR hostages before even given the chance to start "restoring hope", i heard if i did that then there might be bug in that mission. Is that true? Thanks for helping!

There are a choice of two quests to do this, one at Forlorn Hope the other with Ranger Milo on the road to Novac. Did you pick up the other one at all, even if you didn't you can still go to Ranger Milo and complete it apparently. I've just done this one myself.

Does not matter You can do (wipe out Nelson) first then see Ranger Milo for a few caps and still do Hope side quest.

You can collect the supplies near the wind farm too and it does not matter.

So i take that as wrong information from the fallout wikipedia?

Thanks for the replies in advance!

You do not need to kill Dead Sea in order to complete Ranger Milos Quest. He is always inside the building and won't come out, at least that's what I have experienced.

When you kill everyone at nelson and free or kill the crucified troopers and then report to Ranger Milo you eventually get a news update or nelson being retaken, so that quest should not be a part of the Restoring Hope quest anymore.

I think the bug just refers to you going into nelson and killing dead sea without having previously picked up the restoring hope retaking nelson quest and then leaving the area and then picking up the quest at forlorn hope to retake nelson. Then if dead sea is already dead when you accept the quest it may bug.

If you have already killed dead sea and haven't already been to forlorn hope just talk to ranger milo after finishing up at nelson. Then go to forlorn hope and the Restoring Hope quest should work out ok.
