Yes ladies and gentlmen direct2drive just enabled us to preload skyrim its only 5.1gb and I am geting a solid 3mb / sec.. I thought I was only going to get a code and DL from steam but I guess not so great job direct2drive and svck it steam

Hate to break it to you bud but you have to activate it via Steam. Steam is the only version of the game for PC.

Game is still over 2 days away from release, don't really care if I preload now or preload at midnight on Thursday night.

Oh and there was another game recently (last 2 weeks or so) where people downloaded some other game from Gamersgate, and then found out that they had to download the full game again with steam once they activated it. I hope the OP is not in one of those locations that limits bandwidth to 5GB/month

Where did you D2D from?

According to Steam's release timer the game will unlock at midnight, so a preload a bit earlier won't hurt if you've got the time to play at that time.

activate to play ya but they said we would be dling from steam and we arent thats what I am refering to I dont care about running steam to play no biggie to me..

I use d2d from Canada but it shouldnt make any difference if you pre-order from www.direct2drive.com you can download it now as well.
