...pretty much everyone (including me) who saw the leaked gameplay footage thinks it was awful.

So much for my hopes for this game. I should have known. TES and MMOs don't mix.

I think people are putting the cart before the horse in judging ESO off of early beta leaked footage.

Seriously? I mean really? Its in early beta, they can delay the release date if they want, as a minimum they have 8 months to add/finish stuff up before 2013 is over. Abit early to start doom and gloom dont you think?

But you might be right. And I guess the guy was playing on low settings. But the bland environment can't be changed by graphics settings, nor can the terrible voice acting, and mundane gameplay.

They've been working on the game for what, 5 years? How much more will be finished in 8 months?

Thinking it's awful at the moment and thinking that it will remain awful are two very different things, and if you're in the latter group you've never been in a beta test before.

The graphic quality looks good to me. The gameplay looks good. The biggest issue right now lies in animations, which will undoubtedly be refined before release.



At the moment, this game looks -far- better than SWTOR or World of Warcraft looked during their betas, given consideration for the time that the latter was produced in.

Also am not even going to go in using old build, the player playing on low settings etc.

Im no game expert or anything but id assume they have been doing stuff like you know.. lore, thousands of quest designs, artwork for an entire world, PvP system, classes etc for alot of those 5 years.

And now they are working on all of it ingame tuning things as they get tested since there is a limit to what you can test internally, I mean MMOs need ALOT of time everything in the world has to be coded, designed, everything you see in a game someone made its not just copy paste for 5 years you know?

Most of the people that commented on the gameplay footage arn't on that website, and they were a bunch of weirdo's on youtube that delight in downing other peoples hardwork.

The game looked great, needs some work, but what game in early beta doesn't?

Did you know early beta of WoW wasn't even close to the game they released? Don't speak on things of which you do not know, thanks.

Gameplay wise all i saw was a level 1 character running about trying to fight higher level mobs with his basic attack.........and he wasnt trying to play well by the looks of it.

Graphics wise....sure it wasnt that pretty ( his settings werent low either...he showed the graphics ui screen) )and some animations were very poor.......but it is very early beta and proper optimizations arent in yet, also i do remember other MMOs being very poor at this stage also (though not the animations... :/ ).

All in all my opinion is still the same.....wait until closer to release before i decide to buy.

You know, it might not be a bad thing to have some people who have already set ideas about how the game is going to be get disgusted and ignore it. I have the feeling that some of the people who already know the game svcks and exactly how it plays and everything else are the ones that would ruin the game for other players who aren't planning on getting diamond infused adamantium daedric armor and the Sword of World-killing Uber Leetness at level 1 and a half.

I haven't bothered to look at the leaked footage. I'll wait until there is something official released. When the stuff isn't a version of the game set up to test who knows what. And only the devs know whether any of the voices are the final ones, or only placeholders.

Most of the comments were unjustified, even in TSW early beta i swear to god most of the time all I was looking out was FF7 characters and big gray buildings with gray glass.

Nope, I thought it was great, a good game in the making. I good blend of ES and MMO, it's definately looking like my kind of game.
So far Iam very impressed.

Don't forget they built the engine the game runs on as well.

Does that mean you will not be gracing us with your presence on launch day???

What is interesting is the contrast between the other leaked beta vid and this one is the texture and polygon count, seems like that is one of the users zenimax studios is making it playable on older systems, which is interesting to me because it kinda shows the capability of their game engine.

I disagree. I felt it made me genuinely more interested. I wish that they would make an official gameplay video with max settings to shut some of the haters up.
