Prevent Player from quitting dialogue?

Post » Sat Jan 12, 2013 1:37 pm

Hello everyone,

As we all know, it is possible in Skyrim to exit a dialogue at any given time using the "Tab"-key. I don't realize why Bethesda did this, since it basically makes any "dangerous" dialogue close to impossible with the player simply being able to walk away. I experimented with DisablePlayerControls to prevent this, but unfortauntely this disables pretty much everything except what I need it to disable. Is there any way to do this?

All the best and thanks in advance,

Latiro

I think there are one or two threads on this very issue floating around this forum somewhere. I don't think they bore much fruit though.

This might be possible if you were to use SKSE to hijack any key presses? I don't know.........

I asked this a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg time ago and I'm afraid that I didn't find anything. Just create a circumstance where the player has no choice but to re-enter dialogue if they leave it. That's the best you can do. :/

This is depressing... Seriously, I don't see the advantage of removing that feature, as little as I see the advantage of disabling the StartConversation-feature. But well, there's no use in whining about it. ;)

Another question concerning the force-greets: I tried to use a force-greet package twice in one quest and on two NSCs. However, I couldn't select the Subtype "ForceGreet" in the topic of the second NSC. When I removed the ForceGreet-Topic of the first NSC, it worked. Does that mean that only one force-greet can be used each quest?
