I hope Bethesda will re-release this classic on Steam so folks don't have to jump through so many hoops. For anyone's who's interested, you can still buy Steam keys here:
To activate, click the + Add a Game button on the lower-left hand corner of Steam and enter the MP Key.

I removed the store link as it's advertising and I'm not sure if the site's entirely legit. If Bethesda took down Prey from Steam then it doesn't sound very smart to buy a steam key for it elsewhere.

Bethesda didn't take it down. 2K ran out of keys in 2009 shortly after the Prey licence was transferred to Zenimax. The game hasn't appeared on Steam since 2009. I bet there was a re-release planned for the build up for Prey 2's release in 2012 - obviously that didn't happen. It's just a shame that such a great game isn't readily available to PC players. I wasn't advertising. I'm not affiliated with that site. It's just the cheapest way to get a digital copy of Prey that activates on Steam. I would love for Bethesda to make it readily available for pc players again.
