Problem changing the language

Hello,

After my son bought and installed Skyrim, I wanted to do some gaming too. After I started Skyrim, I saw that it was running in English and I changed the language to german with starting the steam program, right-klicked Sykrim and so on.
After changing the language, I started Skyrim again and received the message that SkyrimLauncher could not be found.
Then I started "verify integrity of game cache" and indeed the program was starting do download something. And this took hours ... and hours ... and hours. In the end more than one day. (I have a 12 Megabit dsl connection)
After that it was running again, but again in english.

After some testing and real long downloading I found that everytime I change the language, two files are missing afterwards. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Skyrim_default.ini and SkyrimLauncher.exe.
So I thought it would be a good idea to make a Backup of this files before changing the language. After changing the language, the files were indeed gone and I recovered them from the backup.
In the Skyrim_default.ini I changed the line: sLanguage=ENGLISH to sLanguage=GERMAN which I thought that could do the trick. Skyrim was starting up to the first language dependent Menue and crashed.
I tried sLanguage=DEUTSCH, same result. Changed back to sLanguage=ENGLISH with the same result. Restored the original Skyrim_default.ini with the same result. Skyrim won't start anymore.
I definitly won't start another eight hours (at least) download.

Any Ideas how to get that **beep** Program running?

Best Regards

Ron

Sounds like your game doesnt have any german text or voice files to start the game in german. You only have the english verison, which would be why it wont start in german.

Sorry, it was late last night and I didn't tell the complete story and in some details it was wrong.

We are using a family pc with different logins. I, as the owner of the PC, am the only one who has the right to install software.
I already have a steam account (hl2, portal).
My son tried to install Skyrim with his account, Win 7 prompts him for an admin account, my wife knows my password an types it in.
The DVD has the German content. While installing, it connects automatically to my steam account.
After installation it runs perfectly in German language under my son's login.

Now I start Skyrim with my login and the story begins. I switch to German, Skyrim won't work. I do tons of downloads, Skyrim works. And at this point I was wrong in my original posting. It first started under my login in German. But it was late in the evenng and I just wanted to see if it runs in German.
The next evening I started Skyrim and it was English again. What I didn't know: In the meantime my son was playing under his login, perfectly in German.
After switching to German: same procedure as before.
