Problem In Dead Man's Respite

I was recently playing Skyrim and doing a quest to get the word of power located in Dead Man's Repite. The only problem is though I have the Ruby Dragon Claw, the door is set on all dragons for the activating rings. I have tried reloading from my saves to try and fix the issue but so far "no dice". This is MAJOLY upsetting as this is my most developed character. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on fixing this malfunction????

P.S. As a side not I've already tried killing my character as well as loading again. Nothing seems to work so far.

This is a well known problem, which I also had. I took the advice of an online wiki and saved at the door when the dragon symbols would not move then I quit to title menu and reloaded the save. This fixed it for me and the door could be interacted with again.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is a fix for this. This seems to be a common problem, with no solutions. Sometimes going through the entrance to this particular part of the dungeon (to bring up the loading screen) then immediately returning back through the door and to the puzzle 'sometimes' fixes it, but for other players, the problem persists. If you search for 'ruby dragon' on the forum, you will see how many other players have experienced this same (annoying) glitch, and (as far as I can see), there doesn't seem to be solution. Do you have a save prior to entering this particular dungeon? The only thing I can suggest is to revert to that savegame for the time being and continue to play that, and when patch 1.4 is released, try this dungeon again.

I had the same problem . Here's what I did, I reloaded to a save that was before I entered the cave I didnt have the quest activated until after I jumped down the hole. Once I reached the hole of no return where there is no going back I saved the game then jumped down. I didn't try and touch the glowing door before or after I got Olaf's verse and it worked. I tried for over 2 hours trying different things before going through this procedure. Once the door opens you better make a save.

I don't mean to piggyback this topic, but Dead Man's Respite is a haven of hell for me. To explain. I origianlyl finished this quest, but I had an open quest before that told me to locate the source of Power in Dead Man's Respite. After I heped the bard defeat Olaf, I ran to teh Word Wall..only to get the horrid glitch where you can't get the word. You hear the crackling of the word-but no word itself. It's the third Whirlwind shout. So, I left there eons ago.

I've just discovered the hellhole of Blackreach (Seriously, do these people not believe in light?!?), but before I went,I asked Angier about a location of a Thu'um. He told me to goto ...Dead Man's Respite. Hoping it would be lik ethe Cragslane Cavern work around, I headed back, with both quests active, so see if the system would file them both as closed. No go. Still crackling. Hell, all the Draugr got back up and tried to pwn me. No word again, just anger inducing. I'm assuming this is a patch issue, but I am now uinable to look for Word Walls with Arngier's help due to this...

That reminds me. I need to see how many Masks I own...
